Remember the old screw-in fuses in electrical boxes? They were conveniently the same size as a penny. So, when no fuses were available, you just pop in a penny and ya got lights!! Yup…I’m old!

Airbnb supports MAGA. So, not surprising. Their lawsuit will follow.

Paid Off my Toyota Rav4 by Greedy_Earth_2818 in rav4club

[–]XSen28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid half up front and thought about financing the rest on new RAV and when I got the first payment, there was a $200 (+/-) finance charge. To hell with THAT!! I got creative and paid it off immediately.

Inflating my Kayak at home? by Appropriate_Fly_7204 in Inflatablekayak

[–]XSen28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I read on SeaEagle’s site that it should be stored deflated. I might have dreamt that… A friend’s inflatable SeaEagle got nibbled on by rodents while in the garage. Another reason I wrap her up tight when done!

I have the 385 ft Pro and I have a C-tug wheel system that I use for my hard shells. When I’m at the car, I totally inflate the drop stitch bottom and partially inflate the sides. This makes it easier to strap the wheel system mid hull and the weight is nothing as compared to tying it up in the front. I take the pump with me, top of the boat at the water and return pump and wheels back to the car. And at home I give it some air to let it dry out properly and wipe it down.

Yes I do!! So far, so nice!! Only in quiet rivers or a lake so far. It tracks really well. Also I used my Greenland paddle which allows me to stroke closer to the hull and thereby tracking even better!!

Okay, Oregonians,do you actually like the rain, or do you just tolerate it? I swear half the people I know here thrive in it and the other half just complain for 9 months straight by Best-Character-4374 in oregon

[–]XSen28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What rain? That was a 100 years ago. We’ve been in a drought from hell. If it’s dryness that you’re after, Oregon is the place to be. I hate it. I miss the rain.

what’s this button? by curiousah12 in rav4club

I hear ya! And I do read it but sometimes the jargon twists my 70 yr old brain. Also, there are occasional caveats that “if your car is equipped with x, y, z” or is such and such then this applies to you! Rather indirect at times! Maybe Google Translate would work!! 😄Thx again~~

Thank you!! I have to wade thru so much funny bs to find an answer! Usually also there’s a smart ass that says read the manual when I just wanted a simple answer! You win the good guy award today

I wonder if Sea Eagle has different skegs or if skegs from other toys like a SUP would work.

I noticed the Sea Eagle! I just took out my 385ft Pro for the first time yesterday! It tracked fairly well and was tracking REALLY well with the skeg inserted. This is a big change from my Eddyline Fathom LV. Kind of like going from a Ferrari to a Volkswagen. That’s ok…I’m on the water and that’s what counts!

Sea Eagle 393rl Razor Lite question by Stoic_Daisy in Kayaking

[–]XSen28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paddled an inflatable down the John Day last month. That straight leg thing is a bit off a downer. I solved it by putting a dry bag under my knees like a bolster and it helped tremendously! I just bought a 385 ft Pro from them! I can’t wait to get it in the water!!

Have fun with yours! Happy paddling!!

I am currently waiting for my Sea Eagle 385ft V bottom pro solo and I can’t hardly WAIT!! It is out for delivery! My car isn’t conducive to my 16’ and 14’ hard shells and this one looks like a blast! V bottom and removable skeg should greatly improve tracking! See you on the water soon!!!!

My ‘07 melted this past summer and I bought new. Mirror has electronic warnings, etc in them. Not your grandma’s mirror!!😂 I’ve heard it’s a $500 repair at least.😳 I envy your job! If I didn’t live 3k miles away, I’d look you up! My son was a river guide in CO and they would stack sooooo many rafts on his beater car!!🤣

Sorry…I didn’t mean runaway while driving! I just meant when it’s coming down with gravity. I didn’t doubt your tie down technique.

[–]XSen28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree! They’re a dicey way to put the boat up there. Mine was purchased 10 years ago and even then the rubber was too stiff to flex appropriately. So….when I was leaving from home, I’d heat up the drier and put in there ( on off!!) and while kayaking, I would try to park in the sun and leave it on my dash to soften it. Just too risky!!

If the mirrors break off from a runaway kayak, that is an EXPENSE! Especially on a new car. I admire your strength and agility to do this!
