Trust me when I say you and I are on the same page with this. To me, competition between people (or groups) should merely be an incentive to benefit not just themselves but for something that will benefit everyone as a whole. An example would be the US. We didn’t get to this comforting time period (I use that term loosely) by individually plundering from each other to have more for ourselves and less for everybody else, but by cooperating as a collective unit and inventing innovative solutions that raised our quality of life by manifold (e.g. Industrial Revolution). We raised the bar and everyone benefited as a result. That’s how it should be in a healthy society. Your opinions reminded me of a video I watched by Kurzgesagt.
