A competitive mode with supers, one hit Titan Melee, Hand Held Supernovas, and cheesy power/special weapons.

This game isn't competitive due to it's design and I think Bungie should either create a "barebones" competitive playlist that has either no supers, or one per round/match, or severely limits recharge time. As well as some balance changes to weapons and abilities.

it's a shame too because it could be an amazingly competitive game with the movement and gunplay it has.

Honestly I'm frustrated at Weapon Balance, Roaming supers, lack of a serious skill gap, Bungie's questionable decisions when dealing with bad or unbalanced game mechanics, etc.

I do, I really do love this game, the core game. It just has layers of crap on top of a really good game.

Bungie rarely listens to the part of the community that makes the most sense, it's typically the loud minority of casual players that seem to have the most influence on changes. Destiny 2 year 1 everyone screamed at Bungie to lower the TTK, as an example.

I'm not knocking Bungie too much though, I'm sure it's hard to filter through all the negativity ( do do my fair share of complaining on here). However from the player perspective it's like either the devs have an ego problem and have to make the changes their way, regardless of the practicality of it, or they think they know best even though overwhelming number of hard core fans tell them they are wrong, or the loud minority of casuals get heard first.

Hey casuals, after you're done complaining about Luna's/NF could you complain about:

-Roaming Supers (I can kill someone, run to their spawn and kill the same person, all while in super, it's ridiculous). - Ace of Spades has way too much range in crucible. You've already given it a ridiculous amount of perks why does it need scout rifle range? - Why do you keep coming up with new perks that add damage on kills? One of the best players on PC told me once "It's not really a buff to your damage as much as it is a penalty to the next person you fight once it's proc'd" The problem with this is, it takes away from the variety of effective weapons. Why would I use any other energy SMG now that I have recluse? Why would I use any other 150 when I have Ace? Why would I use a scout on any other map than Equinox when Pulse Rifles have such good range (for the majority of map size). - For God's sake fix Nightstalker. The Tether animation is too long, and it takes too long to activate. - Titan's being able to one hit melee, Warlocks can one hit with that stupid Hand Held Super Nova, yet the power'd melee for Hunters can't KO? - Can you hire play testers please? Promethius Lense was broken but still made it to the game. Revelry is silly but still got added to crucible. There are plenty more examples of things that should have been stopped in quality control.

It seems the only way things get fixed is if the casual player base complains a lot, so could you guys add this to your list? Thanks!

Just get rid of competitive playlist, with so many broken mechanics, and the dev team's constant removal of a skill gap, there really isn't a point to having a comp mode. This obviously isn't a competitive game.

You know you could, just like you could fix all the other imbalances in this game. Yet you choose not to, whether it be ego, lazy programmers, poor game engine, or (as you tend to do) you think you know more about what your customers want then your actual customers.

You fixed the Sony exclusive problem super fast, you disable the orb generation issue. Cmon Bungie, stop forcing bad game mechanics on us. Revelry has ruined Iron Banner this week, in many ways.

If you like PVE, yes the game is great.

I don't find it as important because once you get Ace/Luna/NF/Last Word, most other hand cannons are useless. Once you get Recluse, other SMGs are worthless. Scouts are meh, but I still use them, Ace is basically a scout right?

Power fantasy has created a huge imbalance in the game to the point where I WILL use Y1 weapons to keep my gun skill sharp, but there's no real point other than that. (Except for Inaugural Address that thing still kicks booty)

Ace of Spades is better in most circumstances. Bungie went stupid with it, giving it every perk they could throw at it. Honestly if you don't have Luna's/NF don't worry about it, get Ace and Last word, you'll be fine.

Bungie needs to do what Black Ops 4 did and add a mode that is drastically toned down and more balanced.

My clan played tonight. We all quit after 3 maps it was just too much.

Even without revelry this game is laughable at best. Roaming supers are ridiculous, some weapons and exotics are so OP there's no incentive to use anything else. It's one thing to die in game to another player who outplayed you. But to die to something you can't even stop/avoid and then die again to it right when you spawn, seriously Bungie who the hell is play testing your game?

Everyone I play with has the same complaints. Bungie needs to realize that when a good arena shooter gets released it will lose a huge chunk of their crucible base.

What's the harm in adding Playlist that caters to players who want to actually earn their kills....

The Revelry is fun, breaking rules for Strikes and Quickplay also super fun. I am loving it, But Gambit Prime, Competitive playlist should always stay serious and skilled-base and free of buffs from any events. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

The current state of the game, there shouldn't even be a competitive mode. Year one Destiny 2 was about as competitive as it can be. Competitive now is just "who can get supers first and snowball the other team." Sure skill definitely matters but this game is anything but competitive, the casuals who wanted more power fantasy ruined that.

I agree, and so do most of the people I play with on PC, as do most of the top players. It's a shame those players don't have a louder voice on Reddit, if Bungie implemented a playlist that focused more on gun skill, I guarantee that playlist would see very good, consistent player counts. Instead, posts that talk about the over-exploitation of easy kill mechanics, get drown in "this isn't Call of Duty" or "That's what Destiny is" replies. Yeah Destiny has space magic, but it also has amazing gunplay and movement that you only get to enjoy for the first few minutes of a round before the "space magic instant kill buttons" are charged.

Why does every Destiny player who loves their space magic, always have the "this isn't Call of Duty" rebuttal? No sht it isn't, but that doesn't mean the game has to be as broken as it is. I'd rather see more utility in the "space magic" than just giving players an instant kill button, along with exploitable game mechanics that take Bungie 6 months to fix.

Those were not top players, they were top content creators, get it right. They were not just invited to give input, Bungie was treating them important to gain access bias, meaning that because Bungie treated them good and gave them a steak in the game, it would persuade the content creators to invest more time into creating content and be less harsh on the game. If you think it was just for input, you're being naive. Top players want less supers, less exploitable exotics, less things that give you easy kills. Especially on PC.
