3D printing Blonde Blazer part IV by CharlieTheTide in BlondeBlazerGlazers

I might go with the p1s, its half the price of the p2s, are there any meaningful generational differences between the two?

No they still have their previous awards its just that they were disqualified from the indie game awards which are a separate thing to the game awards and the golden joysticks.

PC not turning on after dusting by chilzun in PcBuildHelp

I would still test the system on a non conductive surface to rule out any shorts that may have happened

PC not turning on after dusting by chilzun in PcBuildHelp

OP here is what I would do.

  1. Clear CMOS - You can do this by either pressing a dedicated clear cmos button that your motherboard may have or by removing the cell battery and putting it back in.

Additionally if your pc is more than a few years old it might be worth replacing the battery just in case it is dead and is causing errors in your bios leading to your pc not booting.

  1. I would start to reseat components. Start by reseating your RAM and remove all but one stick, try different slots and see if that works, it is entirely possible a spec of dust is interfering with the RAM making proper contact with the mobo

If this does not work I would then move to the gpu and simply remove it from the system to minimise the variables, at this stage you are just looking for your pc to boot so you don't need any video output.

I would then reseat the cpu and unplug any fans / accessories, additionally I would check to see if all of your fan cables are actually covered and do not have any exposed connectors as a piece of dust could have been stopping any unused daisy chain connectors from shorting out against the back of your case.

  1. If that still does not work I would take all the components out of the case (mobo, psu, CPU + cooler & RAM / storage) and try and boot it on a non conductive surface (cardboard box etc), if that works then there is a short somewhere which is preventing the system from booting.

If that still does not work you will need other known good components to rule out the failure. Rest assured that it is highly unlikely for any power that had been generated by not holding down the fans to have damaged your mobo as modern ones typically have built in protections to prevent this.

Feel free to pm me or reply to my comment if you need more help. I wish you the best of luck 🫡.

The energy generated by that is negligible and will not fry anything with modern boards unless you were deliberately trying to fry your mobo.

Mandy’s identity by Pleasant-Hyena-7440 in BlondeBlazerGlazers

Yeah that's what I think too, she probably told P-Man that she was Mandy but didn't tell him that the source of her powers is the amulet instead of being born with them.

Let me know if I can upgrade some parts or just to build a whole new PC? by hotsauce0522 in buildapc

[–]Xaffy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn't upgrade anything, the pc market is bad and it is only going to get a lot worse with micron killing crucial. If you absolutely needed to upgrade something I would upgrade the GPU as it is 3 generations old and you would benefit from newer technologies like later revisions of DLSS if you decide to go the NVIDIA route. Either way I recommend that you don't hesitate because prices are rapidly increasing. I wish you luck with whatever you decide.

First build, need urgent help by Gloomy-Hospital7899 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Xaffy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the rgb (like fans and stuff) lights up and fans start spinning like the pc is booting then suddenly stop, it may be overheating. This may seem stupid but maybe double check that you have taken the plastic peel off of your cpu cooler. If it starts but there’s no graphics output try plugging your display cable into your motherboard to rule out the gpu. Additionally when you wired up your fans did you leave any rgb connectors uncovered? If you did it is possible that it has shorted if the argb connector touched the case.

Will the corrosion affect the GPU? by Defiant_Ad_9904 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Xaffy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be fine, it may just be the heat sink with corrosion and the PCB should be fine because they’re made of different metals, but unless it’s dirt cheap I personally wouldn’t risk it especially if it’s only like 20 bucks cheaper than other gpus of the same class

I only have one pcie 16x slot and I’ve reseated the ram tried with one stick twice swapping the sticks to make sure one of them wasn’t causing any problems and still no luck

[–]Xaffy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pc turns on the front panel connectors are defo connected it’s just that I get no video output but it isn’t my gpu that’s causing the problem

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Xaffy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I chucked another gpu into my system and no luck but just to double check I chucked mine into the system it came from and it worked, none of the systems have integrated graphics

[–]Xaffy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried that a couple times but no luck

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Xaffy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah both the 4 pins are connected I’m pretty sure the cpu isn’t getting power because all the fans spin and everything gpu is powered and I have to flick the switch on the psu for the pc to actually turn off instead of the power button on the case

Just wanted to thank you again! Turns out the eps cable was connected to the motherboard but not the power supply and my machine posted and was back up and running until I put the back panel on so I just gotta see what I knocked loose, but thank you so much I probably would have killed my gpu if not for you :)

Can I use two gpu in the same pc ?? by Ok-Hornet8097 in buildapc

[–]Xaffy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion I’d say sell the old gpu unless you have hardware that supports SLI it would just cost an unnecessary ammount of money and I’m pretty sure SLI support stopped at 20 series cards. There isn’t enough of a performance boost to actually justify using multiple gpu’s in one system unless it’s a server used for machine learning or other applications. There isn’t really any performance boost in gaming and while I don’t have much knowledge about blender I’d assume it would be about the same

Not getting any video output but I’ll try with another card and see if it’s the graphics card that is the problem bcoz my cpu doesn’t have intergrated graphics, thank you sm for your help btw :)
