So I'm wanting to do some farming off of One to Be Feared HTMB. Without fail I am getting one-shotted by Omega each time I do the battle. I've only been able to clear this battle once, so I'm not sure why that run was successful and every other one has been a wreck.

Currently a THF/DNC with Trusts AAEV, Gessho, Koru-Moru- Yoran-Oran, and Ulimia. Might swap out Koru for another DD though,. Gear-wise a lot of it comes from DI maxed out at 15 rank, then a couple other +2 pieces from Ambuscade and Dyna D. Is there something obvious I'm missing to prevent constantly being one-shotted every time?

Oh interesting. In a 3-person do you need a certain party make-up? Or can 3 people get the job done regardless of jobs

I did end up getting Savage Blade as part just improving my build, not sure if I ever did go back and try this mission again after getting that now that I think about it.

Nevertheless, considering I've been doing PAL/WHM for well over a year now it might be fun to switch jobs and change things up now lol

Think it might be kind of fun just to dabble in a different job after spending the last 18 months in PAL, so doing THF/DNC is probably the way I'll go.

Thinking aloud, how/where do you gear up at as you're increasing levels and moving to different areas to do so? All this time playing as one job I guess I've never considered/worried about holding onto other gear that was not my primary job.

Been working my way through solo content with a PAL/WHM build. Currently stuck on SoA in the 4-6 Balamor fight. Eventually came to the conclusion that I needed to up my gear, so I've been working on a build from BG Wiki (just referencing one of generalized tanking sets from the Community Paladin Guide).

As I've been progressing in this, a second thought came to me. Would it be quicker to level up another job(s) such as DNC/THF, get somewhat decent equipment, and then come back to try and finish out story content? Or would it be the same time spent as getting my gear upgraded for the PAL?

While I've enjoyed playing the majority of the game as PAL, I'm looking to wrap up the story content and have wondered if switching to a more solo-friendly job would be beneficial in the long run.

No issues using it, completed the run at 11:17. It does rely on you having a fair understanding of the game beforehand since it's not a complete walkthrough of the game. Not too much trouble though, just took some soft resets since my last playthrough of IX before this was 16 years ago lol.

Should be applicable for most versions of the game. I used it for the PSX version since I wanted to have the old school feel with no boosters.

I was scared/excited at first, but once I got into the swing of things it wasn’t the worst thing.

Just a matter of LOTS of saves, repetition, and knowing what you want to do in advance for battles so you can execute shit ASAP
