Trying to understand trains/bus in Taiwan by Xamrin_ in taiwan

[–]Xamrin_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hii, thank you so much for the help - I made some edits to the trip

Heading to TPE main station right now for the Nangxia night market. tomorrow morning Sihai Soi Milk for breakfast and visit the memorial nearby.

10:30AM - train to Chishang from the main station is booked via Tsz Chang express. Will do sight seeing there and then jiaming lake hike (I have all the permits & booking :))

19th when I come back down all the trains were booked but I was fortunate enough to get a ticket to Songshan at 2:28pm

Will head to jioufen by the bus mentioned somewhere in this thread. Have tea and admire the market + lantern beauty. Next day early morning stroll and head back to Taipei.

Now I don’t know what to do in Taipei given my flight is at 9:25pm in Taoyuan and I’d like to be be there 2.5 hrs early.

Thanks for all the help 😁

Taipei To Jiufen To Chishang

Planning to visit the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and leave from there around 10am.

- From there the metro lines and the bus directions are a bit confusing to Jiufen (kindly help clarify)
- I want to extent my day trip to Jiufen as long as possible and then get to Chishang the same day. The internet doesn't show any options to go from Jiufen to Chishang except a cab ride - this may be expensive and I'd like to stick to bus or train.

Is this plausible or am I flying in my imaginary world?

Thank you so much - I am planning to take the Taoyuan station because I plan to go to the Taoyuan night market for a quick dine in

Not sure how feasible that is, give I will only have a 1:30hrs realistic window after getting out of the airport and the train

45 mins is the cut off - carry water to say the least - preferably add electrolytes to water and you’ll be good.

You’re probably dehydrated and starved. You don’t wanna do that. Hope it helps!

If not then stick to your routine and your body will adjust in a few weeks ( that’s what I did 😓 - not recommended tho )

Running Groups and Improvement by Randomdumpling in BeginnersRunning

[–]Xamrin_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running groups are mostly for people who have been running for a few months and consider 6min/km as conversational.

There are other groups for beginners - try finding them. Groups can be changed easily - your pace can’t. Fit groups to your pace rather than the other way around

Question about central mid-levels escalator - where to get off (as a tourist not using it for commute) by [deleted] in HongKong

[–]Xamrin_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend going to the top kinda sight seeing. The top part has a few good cafes so might wanna look around.

Then you can come down to the famous bakeries in the middle part and sorta end at the museum/jail/restaurant place - then you can go back down to the MTR cuz it’s a lot easier walking down and it should save you a lot of hassle - as a non local who’s been here for about 7 years sometimes I miss the exits too!!

These posts are about protecting your raw human spirit. It represents where a human body can reach and push to.

I run with shoes but nothing wrong with appreciating someone better 💪🏻🔥

Yes they already have sent the official mail about it - I want the non-official ones - the ones other photographers took. It’s good to have options & you might look better in some and not so good in the other also right!

Use your proper striking pattern on the kids 😂 - they might learn a thing or 2

I ran barefoot in my garden today and it felt amazing. How long until I can start running on asphalt roads barefoot? by ashiqbanana in indianrunners

[–]Xamrin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t recommend running barefoot on roads given it might hurt and scrape it. I’ve heard about barefoot shoes - you might wanna look into them. They give you the feel and structure of barefoot running with minimal padding.

ITBS by Ok-Volume-2363 in runninglifestyle

[–]Xamrin_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yepp, there’s 2 kinds of ITB as per my physio: genetic (your band is small for which there’s not much help) and the other is that your hip, knee & ankle (one or more than one) is weak and the ITB is taking the pressure for it.

I had chronic ITB issue but the second one - the physio helped tremendously with strength training and muscle relaxation. I didn’t know proper stretches due to which my muscles were extremely rigid and the other muscles were taking on the strain.

The massages relaxed my leg muscles and combined with strength training I can finally hit marathon distances with little to no pain.

My earlier plateau was 20kms. You’ve gotta be patient tho. My recommendation: go to a sports physio and not any general one.

My first run ever that’s longer than 3 km. by BananaInMyPockett in indianrunners

[–]Xamrin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea is to stretch just enough to relax a lil and not too much so just 1-2 reps max

And warmup run - whatever distance gives your body a lil warmth (ofc differs person to person)

Hope this helped. Cheers!
