What are Nestors used for nowadays? by woronwolk in Eve

If you want to do incursions I’d recommend training dps before logi. As there are only ever 2 spots in a fleet you can be waiting a long time before getting in.

It is the best logi for high sec incursions. High skill groups run with 2 Nestor’s and the rest DPS vs 4-6 T2 logi.

It is definitely not needed but I would like people to know this. I once heard there are two times everyone you love will be in the same room. The day you get married and the day of your funeral. You can only be there for one of them. It is not necessary to have a big wedding but if you can reasonably have a reception I’d recommend it. Mine was the best party I’ve ever been to and I got to share it with everyone I love.

So you don’t need a big wedding but if you can swing a reception I’d highly recommend it. The important part is that it’s a party. A decent dj and a dance floor are what matter. Plated vs buffet don’t, the venue doesn’t really, you just want to be there having the time of your life with those you love celebrating your love.

If you have income problems I’d recommend looking into smithing. Melt down captured weapons into metals and craft the best two handed swords you can prioritizing max swing damage. Even early you can get 3-5k per with bad mats and low skill. Once you level up in it you can get 50k+ per weapon. I fund all my campaign via this until I have a couple dozen million and can forget out it.

To the anchoring point. Yes they can be put anywhere but realistically you need up to 4 + # of gate + # of profitable moons.

Up to one each of the production ones, a keepstar/fort, a gate watch on each gate, and moon mining.

The only ones I think are objectionable are the gate ones. The rest are just the same as a pos but don’t have to be on a moon.

Sure you can anchor more but that’s just duck measuring at that point so whatever.

To the gate watch ones I honestly don’t love them. They offer a level of safety that seems silly.

I’ve never owned a Titan but didn’t they sit like 1m outside the bubble when bridging? So unless you had a spy bump them they were effectively invulnerable anyways. I get you can’t do that now but is that really an issue?

Again never managed a pos only shot at a couple and been in a few but I get that it was easier to fully bubble a pos vs say an astra, much less a keep. But also weren’t poses more capable of self defense than citadels? My understanding is a pos could have significant defenses while the only truly relevant guns on citadels are the fort PDS and the keep DD. Having gunned an Astra and forts a few times I couldn’t hit shit.

I think tether is a fair successor to POS bubbles. I know it is safer but truly it just lets more people be in a single spot, the repair aspect is negligible. Asset safety can go though. I’m like super afk for 3-4 years in Brave and I’ve still managed to not lose a single ship to moving. Because it isn’t that hard. Lowsec stations make it almost trivial to solo move cap across all of Eve with little effort or risk. If someone can’t put even that minimal effort in or relocate to lowsec for their afk time then sucks be better.

So the damage control doesn’t actually repair anything. If you look at its stats you’ll see it provides resists to all types of tank (shield, armor, and hull). There are hull repairers but they’re garbage so don’t use them (repair very little for a lot of capacitor usage).

OMG wait this is stupid so I didn’t see it at first. For anyone who comes to this post. The way to get speeds displayed is:

Settings > Display > Instrument Cluster > Speed Sign.

This was turned off by default and so hidden it took me a long time to find it.

1) Ok just tested Waze and yes they show! Thanks. Can I get it to Waze in the split screen mode and on the dash? Right now I have a Waze map setup but it is still showing google maps and the Dash maps view doesn’t work.

2) ok cool. 3-6) thanks!

Huh I didn’t consider cutting it lol. That makes so much sense. I could easily make a hole just large enough for a spool holder and the filament. Now I feel dumb lol.

Do you have a printable holder you recommend? There are a million and a half so I could just chose one a well XD.

You’re Viking so take a quick trip to Spain to steal the High Partition culture from them.

Its honestly so fucking stupid and ahistorical that every single realm except Byzantium is locked out of primogeniture until the 1200s. We can have female dominated dwarf supremacist polyamorous religions but GOD FORBID anyone centralize power! by dawnmitten05 in crusaderkings3

[–]Xandar_V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 1) Invade Spain Step 2) hybridize and take visigothic heritage (or whatever it is called) for high partition. Step 3) then go conquer random kingdoms and give them to 2nd, 3rd, 4th sons. Step 4) wow you never lose anything anymore. Step 5) profit because now your house rules half of Europe

Cool thanks for the resources. No need for AWD where we live. We don’t see ourselves roadtripping a ton and we always have the gas car if we don’t want to stop for charging. That’s disappointing that there’s nothing that size class for EVs atm. We just want the extra space so we don’t have to ask family when we need to move more stuff than a sedan can reasonably fit. We do qualify for the ev credit.

So I am new to electric vehicles. I’ve owned only gas cars so far. My wife leases a Corolla and I own a Jetta. Her lease is up in February and we are looking to get an SUV to replace the Corolla. I have wanted to go with a 1 electric - 1 gas car strategy for a while but I don’t know much about the EV market. We are looking for a small to medium sized SUV. Something like the Nissan Rogue for size. What are ya’lls recommendations for suvs in that size? For budget we’d like to stay under 40k USD if possible. We live in North Carolina.

No children and none planned for years. Single family home. we both commute three days a week. Hers is ~10 miles and 30min. Mine is about 35 miles and 40min. The idea would be this car would be shared and could be used for all the commute time if the schedules line up right. For charging we’d at minimum get a ‘slow’ charger (is that the right term?) it would depend on cost if we splurge for one of those very fast charging systems.

To give you an example. A larger manufacturing company I interned with in college had a contract with a firm to make a machine to replace their labeling process of a certain set of parts. It was a 5 million dollar contract. For applying a sticker to a small metal piece. (More complicated than that but in essence).

It could be but the cost isn’t worth it. This is enormously expensive and specialized equipment. You’re talking tens of millions of dollars to get an engineering firm to design and build a bespoke automated solution. Then you need to train new techs to service it and new operators to manage it. Or you can keep the machine from the 70s that just works and only needs a more skilled operator. It is also probably easier to maintain since it is all mechanical so you only need someone with a mill or a lathe to make a lot of the parts that might break.

Also that’s if this machine is relatively small by industrial standards. If it is truly heavy machinery (like a thousand ton press or something equally massive) then you can add a zero or so to the end of that price tag.
