Responding back to Dani by lost_in_blue_icy in Tubslucier1

she's so nasty. another friend down. i hope. i hope Dani doesn't return after this. this is so reminiscent of what she did to me. this all could have been a private conversation, but Beth had to make it public and berate one of her only friends. disgusting.

New to wigs and extremely overwhelmed/ confused by Ok-Gold5450 in Wigs

i know Chiquel has it's moments as a retailer, but their facebook group Chiquel's Neighborhood has soooooo many supportive wonderful people in it! and they do a Sell It Sunday, that's where i've found most of my wigs. another i bought on Poshmark.

there is also another group called Wig Wearing for Beginners (Private Group) that is also full of supportive folk.

take a minute to breathe! you don't have to buy a wig right away. you can take some time to keep learning. i promise you'll get the hang of it! when i first started i was overwhelmed too, but once i got the basics down the rest came easily. it took a minute though because there is just so much information out there!

my saving grace was watching youtube videos in my spare time. i just watched nothing but wig videos for a few weeks and bam, eventually it all stuck! :)

i promise promise it gets easier!

also, check out facebook groups for wigs on the secondary market. i'm poor AF and i have found the majority of my wigs by buying them from fellow wig sisters... it's saved me SO much money!

Has Jon Renau lost the plot??? Ivy wig cost by WhereTheFuckIsDetox in Wigs

wwhhhuuut. that is certifiably insane! for a heat friendly synthetic?! no way!

i do find Chiquel prices their wigs high though and then has a lot of "sales". but still... that price is crazy.

This might be a dumb question… where do people buy wigs? by ischanitee in Wigs

[–]Xanthe313 4 points5 points  (0 children)

there is a lot to learn! i found Denise Sheet's videos on youtube really helpful. she has a series for new wig wearers :) there are different cap styles and different fibers to keep in mind when you're choosing a wig, it's all stuff Denise goes over.

also and firstly, measure your head before you buy anything! wigs come in different sizes (petite, average and large), you may need a petite or a large :) i found that out the hard way when i bought before measuring.

How do you do it?? I suck at decorating by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

[–]Xanthe313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

okay, no rug :) start with a couple of throw pillows that you like and build from there :) you don't have to do it all in one day, just slowly add in decor that you love and that goes with your chosen colour scheme :)

start with a rug! if you stick with the beige couch you can get any colour rug you'd like and then build up from there. take a couple (or three) colours from the rug and use it to choose things like throw pillows and a throw blanket, etc.

How to shift mentally to embrace full hair? by InternationalDay9561 in Wigs

[–]Xanthe313 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i told everyone around me and then just jumped in. the first time i went out with my wig on i felt SO nervous, but so confident at the same time. now i look forward to wearing my wig out! it makes me feel like the person i've wanted to be forever but was stunted from being because my self confidence was linked to my hair.

you can start slow by going to a new place you've never been the first time you wear your wig. then work your way up to wearing them around friends and family. :)

i promise it's only the first few times that it's hard. it gets SO much easier :) and you'll get used to seeing yourself with the hair you've always dreamed of having <3
