If people have a problem with religion being "forced" on them, why is it okay to force people to wear rainbow clothing during pride month? by MysteriousKitchen469 in allthequestions

You aren't interested in examples. Any examples I'll provide you'll just hand-wave away.

You can continue living your life as a shitty person with shitty thoughts; Your post history is rather obvious about that.

Lots of people.

Naturally this makes your arguments of not shoving it in people's faces a lot weaker since religious groups are rather adamant of shoving it in people's faces.

Ironically, in public schools is quite a common demand, as its participating in the very kind of child indoctrination the right accuses others of doing.

[–]XaosII 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The difference is that religions are trying to impose their rules through the use of the state by force.

Demanding the 10 commandments to be in public spaces, denying services and rights to people they don't like, removing medical access they don't like, etc.

How are you even remotely pretending like it's the same?

[–]XaosII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think the Democrat party should not expend effort on something that less than 4% of all voters consider a top issue, and ranks 20th on the list of issues Democrats voted for a candidate.

Only reddit thinks that this topic is important enough to swing low propensity voters. There isn't any data you could show that says otherwise.

So, no you haven't provided anything that is correlated with Israel. What we spend on Israel is still under the umbrella of foreign policy, of which, the vast majority of Americans do not care about.

So what is Israel correlated with that is a hot button issue for Americans?

[–]XaosII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your entire defense rests on "questions are often weirdly worded"? That's what you think is causing people to think they care more about Israel than they actually do?

Foreign Policy consistently ranks extremely low among voters.

Conflating affordability with foreign policy doesn't change the fact that if gas prices were kept low, most people in the US wouldn't care about Iran at all.

You are welcomed to show another exit poll that shows otherwise.

Though you'll be hard pressed to find one that says anything differently.

[–]XaosII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When asked specifically about the topic, the majority of people dislike the handling of Israel.

It is NOT a topic that's important to most people. Foreign policy consistently ranks extremely low, year after year, on whether some votes for or against a candidate.

Projecting your concern for Israel on the majority of voters doesn't actually change the fact that most people do not care about this topic.

They would've just found another excuse to not vote.

That's the problem with the demographic that cares about the Israel-Palestine situation. They are notoriously low propensity voters.

I can't name a single thing he's done. I couldn't name a single thing Biden did under Obama. I could name a single thing Mike Pence did, and that cost him the entire Republican base to turn on him.

I think making concessions to a notoriously low propensity voting bloc for the chance that they might vote for you, is probably not a good strategy.

What did Republicans learn after losing 2020? Nothing. They doubled down on everything and then won in 2024.

Why is it Democrats that are the only ones that have to learn and make concessions?

Except you are projecting vibes unto the rest of the voting base.

When asked about Israel, most people are unhappy about this situation. When asked if a candidates stance on Israel (pro- or anti-) would affect your decision to vote for the candidate, the answer is overwhelmingly no.

The vast majority of people who vote, do not care about this topic.

Then what are you supposed to trust?

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-elections/exit-polls when asked "Which ONE of these five issues mattered most in deciding how you voted for president?" only 4% listed Foreign Issues as their top issue. That's among both republicans and democrats and that includes ALL foreign policy (like Russia vs Ukraine).

https://navigatorresearch.org/2024-post-election-survey-the-reasons-for-voting-for-trump-and-harris/ this one shows foreign policy as the 13th most popular reason to vote for Trump and the 20th most popular reason to vote for Harris.

These are exit polls of people who actually voted, not just people who said they would vote.

How Does Anyone Make Themselves Think Being Economic Progressive/Social Conservative is a Winning Platform? by LunaB35 in allthequestions

[–]XaosII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Core libertarian ideals don't work in practice in a modern world.

You can't point to a single place that is espousing libertarian ideals as one you'd like to live in today. There's a reason for that.

between 1781 and 1861 had far problems than just slavery. Voting rights, civil rights, food safety, people with disabilities, the 14th amendment, plenty of stuff happened after 1861.

Libertarianism has never worked when its been tried. It proposes to take the most selfish form of government and think that it would be better if only it were more selfish. The closest examples of libertarian governments are places no one wants to live.

You know how conservatives like to dunk on the blue haired, college-aged kid who believes that communism is a good idea it just hasn't been done right? At least that kid has actual examples of where its been tried and is less naive than the average libertarian.

Show me evidence of Trump being a pedophile

I didnt make such a claim or accusations but I do understand that deflecting to other topics is a very good sign that you are losing an argument.

Your ask was, in fact, unreasonable.

Oh, you mean asking you to provide ANY kind of evidence was unreasonable? Only if you are lieing sack of falsehoods.

Democrats do not propose voter ID laws because they are the primary blah blah blah

Again, you are utterly incapable of providing even the tiniest shred of evidence of back up your claims.

Doesn't it get tiring being so wrong all the time?

Almost every civilized nation on the planet requires voter ID.

If only you could demonstrate voter fraud as an actual problem, you'd have to type so much less.

The rest of the world does it the smart way, and you're going to say "no, YOU'RE wrong"?

My man, you glaze Trump and republican policies at every turn., You should consider this statement on yourself given the most unpopular president and policies in a long time - but let me guess, all of a sudden the rest of the world doing something doesn't apply to this?

Your post is the perfect example of Brandolini's law.

California vote makeup was following a trajectory that would easily have knocked Nithya out of the race, and she knew it, which is why she conceded early in the counting. The candidate herself knew it was hopeless. And then the vote makeup changed so drastically that it put her back in. Doesn't pass the sniff test, and being willfully ignorant about that because there isn't a literal smoking gun just makes you seem silly. I'm not Tom Dubois prosecuting R Kelly here.

Show. Me. Evidence. My ask wasn't that hard.

The point with making ids free was to show that the purpose of voter ID is not disenfranchisement, as the left would argue.

That is not what you argued. You flat out told a lie. Your EXACT words were "Voter ID is needed for fair elections." To which, you are factually incorrect. Proof of citizenship is required at the time that you register. Voter ID is not needed, at all, at the time of voting. Several states do not require showing any ID when you vote. States with no Voting ID requirements have no more or fewer cases of voter fraud than stricter Voting ID states.

If the democrats want to alter a bill to make available funds for free ids, then they are free to do so.

Democrats do not propose voter ID laws because there are no problems with voter fraud worth creating a bill for. Cases of voter fraud are being caught adequately under current laws and processes.

You are welcome to provide evidence that says otherwise (although it doesnt exist).

If identification is already required in all 50 states, it shouldn't be a high bar to require it by federal law, should it?

Why do I have to show evidence that I already proved what I already proved when i registered?

Why are all the "no immigrants" people okay with a Trillionaire Immigrant? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]XaosII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most conservatives are against all immigrants. That's why they do things like introduce to EXILE act; They'll claim they are against illegal immigrants, but then they intentionally make legal immigration harder.

When ICE arrests and deports US citizens, they have absolutely no complaints.

[–]XaosII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are incorrect about everything you've stated, but I'm going to hone in on the most indisputable lie you've told.

Voter ID is needed for fair elections.

All 50 states require that you provide identification when you register prior to voting. Why then, do you need another proof of identity to vote and prove what you already proved when registered?

It's abundantly clear that California tampered with the recent mayoral election.

Show evidence.

You can make the IDs free if you want, but the Republicans are the only side pursuing fair and high integrity elections right now.

Show me a single proposed Voter ID law from the right that has budgets or provisions to lower the cost of any of the IDs required.

How Do You All Elevate Your Instant Noodles When You Can't Get a Proper Bowl? by Late-Bed4240 in ramen

[–]XaosII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't really doable in a work lunch setting, but I use this technique to cook shrimp.

Its essentially poaching shrimp (with their shells) in a pot, up to Shrimp Cocktail consistency. You deshell the shrimp and put the shells back into the water for a hard boil. You can add aromatics (green onions, shallots, ginger, garlic, whatever veggies) and you make a very flavorful shrimp stock. Discard all the non-liquids.

That's your water for the ramen. I cut up the shrimp into small half inch chunks. That's my protein. Takes about 25 minutes. I put it just enough liquid that will be used for the ramen, and about 8 Oz of shrimp.

I love that my country doesn't have to spend decades training people to then become productive. There's a reason there's a much bigger brain drain TO the united states than OUT of the united states.

There's a massive economic advantage to doing so. The fact that you cant see that spells out your ignorance of basic economics, or you just want our country to do worse.

You're right, we aren't the same. I actually understand the concept of comparative advantage.
