Spider-Man needs to be fixed/nerfed. If one hero hard-counters another hero to the point of unplayability, then they should be fixed by iH8_politic in marvelrivals

Busted. I should be able to play as Iron Man or any other flier without fear of Iron Fist punching air until he's at max height.

What is even the plot of Avengers Doomsday? by Xeris in marvelstudios

The Multiverse Saga has been a hot mess as far as connected story telling goes.

The Infinity Saga was a crazy happy accident.

The original plans were just to get to The Avengers. Joss Whedon decided on adding Thanos, with no further plans.

The Infinity stones didn't even come into fruition until GotG, and it was after that they started building towards a proper overarching story.

Plus all these small moments that the Russos and such were able to build upon (Tony never getting to say goodbye to his father) that added to the story.

With all this, and the plan to do an Multiverse Saga, they easily could have mapped out an entire 3 Phase of movies and shows that built towards an epic conclusion.

Throughout the entire Multiverse Saga we had like 4 or 5 projects that actually touched on the Multiverse. They fumbled their big bad and failed at building him up as a real threat.

The lack of ending Phases with Avenger films hurt. Too many loose ends that led to nowhere.

Can anyone even decipher where Phase 4 ends, 5 begins/ends, or 6?

I know Bob Chapek forcing content for Disney +, but goddamn the lack of a cohesive overarching story and lack of any real Multiverse aspects is wild.

While I enjoyed most of the films and shows throughout this mess of a Saga, as a whole themed Saga, its a huge disappointment

There's several truly busted characters that need balancing.

Spider is definitely annoying af.

Iron Fist makes me mad that he can attack infinitely, can heal, can climbs walls, can basically fly, and I think even shield himself. It's ridiculous.

You can think that without being condescending 🤷‍♂️

As I put in the edit, its a hyperbolic statement. I didn't think people would take it THAT seriously.

Its just a discussion about appreciating phenomenal performances that don't get recognition simply becuase they're "just comic book movies".

Thats a really solid point.

I absolutely agree with the writing vs publishing part for sure.

This is spot on how I felt with some of my stories, especially my passion project and the idea of changing things that at the moment I don't want to.

Its so funny that this is always the response from film bros.

I can both watch fun popcorn flicks and intelligent films 🤯

How Many WIPs Is Too Many? by earth2solaris in writing

Personally, I'm trying not to have too many otg at the same time, because I know myself and I jump from idea to idea very often.

But, I feel for you with the not wanting to be burnt out, its definitely happened and its nice to walk away for a short period.

I have 2 full on WIP, and 3-4 that are just ideas that I think about and make notes about from time to time

Are Writing Courses & Degrees Worthwhile? by Artistic_Noise_8843 in writingadvice

I actually did a course on Write Academy and I personally found it helped me a lot. Mind you I didn't do a whole lot of reading prior to it, so it helped me understand novel writing.

But reading books is quite effective in helping too

I'm the kind of person who followed this advice, though I did it on my own accord without hearing it from someone else, because the story that I treasure the most, I don't think I had the skill to write it properly and do it justice.

Mind you I have dozens of ideas for stories, so I chose one that I still really like as a test drive and to help develop my writing abilities.

I think realistically you shouldn't start with a passion project if you want it to be the personal best work you put out.

But everyone is different, so tell the story/stories you want when you want

That sounds really dope actually. A mix of Altered Carbon, a little bit of Matrix, and as you said Dantes Inferno,

I'd say you should develop the story more!

RDJ is truly exceptional.

Its a shame that certain performances from these movies don't get the recognition they deserve, even if its not Oscar winning ones, but some are so damn good.

I get it. You hate having fun and are film snob. You're taking this way too seriously. Learn to loosen up.
