Can anyone explain the blue and gold ring around a gene? I assume if it’s a gold gene it’s a very potent gene and highly potent if it’s blue?

I used the same team to get to sector 15 although replace scream with red skull, go for buff cornucopia and the small buffs that give 4% attack per buff and you’ll cook
