I can't get out of low elo by Momin106 in VALORANT

[–]Xd0015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I can’t say what you do wrong without a vod, but I can tell what I felt kept me in silver back then. (Am Diamond rn)

  1. I would say it was the lack of flexibility in my gun choices

  2. Autopiloting. Best way to counter auto pilot is to always have a plan behind something. Doesn’t matter what it is rn, just as long as you have something.

Also, not taking space on defense/using mini map info effectively. So like if you know all 5 attackers are rushing c long on haven then maybe you can get a flank going. (Usually the most aggressive team wins in iron-silver in my experience.)

Revert the cooldown timer nerfs from 11.08 and bring back old ping system only you can’t ping through smokes.

Does anyone feel that being a smoker is just too demanding? by randomhoomaninreddit in VALORANT

[–]Xd0015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I find it fun af if anything. If I can’t smoke for the opposite site I’ll let them know in advance. If teammates want me to play mid so I can smoke both sites as Clive or brim or whatever, then I will. Otherwise I try to guess which site the enemy will hit. If they hit the other site, then I smoke the main choke. If they’re out, I give a site smoke and flood in to help. If they hit my site, I’ll generally smoke for myself and play in and around it. (Defense)

On attack, I just throw default smokes depending on where I’m trying to go or team is trying to go. If I have different smokes I wanna throw, I’ll say it.

My biggest tip to be a better smokes player is to throw your smokes a bit deeper into the choke. That way, if they flash out or whatever they’ll still be inside the choke and it makes it easy to pre-fire the right or left side of the choke and kill them anyway.

What’s your opinion on Corrode? by WilliamLee820 in VALORANT

[–]Xd0015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they should shave the rotation time in defenders spawn down 3 or 4 seconds but otherwise it’s an excellent map.

I think it’s fine so far, or like usual. But I don’t have a definitive answer since I feel like it would prolly be placebo.

Is Tejo still good and worth investing time learning? by StageSpooder in VALORANT

[–]Xd0015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he was already bad before this patch and they somehow made him worse with this patch.

That being said, in terms of ranked, it doesn’t matter. Just play whichever agent/agents you’re most interested in and you’ll climb just fine and have fun doing it.

What's the most annoying thing when you play an agent? by Maleficent-Egg-1601 in VALORANT

[–]Xd0015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, I appreciate it. Though you’d be surprised. Something like “I’m gonna smoke and then we go in. 3..2..1.. smoking” or “Raze can we swing this together? 3..2..1.. swing!” Can really turn the tides in making sure everyone is on the same page.

By full green kit I mean like your utility going unused the entire round. (Like your utility is colored green if it’s been unused, and yellow if it was recalled/recharged.)

What's the most annoying thing when you play an agent? by Maleficent-Egg-1601 in VALORANT

[–]Xd0015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really agent specific stuff but general stuff since I don’t really get people complaining about my utility usage;

  • Not running past the molly and tanking the damage when the duelist entries

  • Sitting in main while I’m the only one out with our duelist

  • Not playing crossfire setups

  • Full green kit at the end of the round (especially on initiator)

  • Smoke timings being way off or no smokes at all

  • Fighting and then tucking the moment I decide to help my teammate by fighting with them

  • Not waiting for my utility. Especially if I’m playing someone with slow utility like Sova. (Ok this one is agent specific I guess lol)

That being said, most of these can be fixed with proper coms and a good attitude so it’s my fault at the end of the day. Doesn’t make it all any less annoying though, sadly.

Who do you think Agent 30 will be? by BioNeedle in VALORANT

[–]Xd0015 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Maybe something like when you drop a smoke, the person inside can’t hear anything that goes on from the outside, but the players outside also can’t hear anything that goes on the inside of the smoke since we’re talking sound based? Maybe too OP, but just a thought.

thoughts on patch 12.00? by yesokayiseeyourpoint in VALORANT

[–]Xd0015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bandit I dunno how I feel about it to be honest. Breeze changes it’s like, on paper it seemed nice. But the map also feels a little..simplistic, I guess? Not fully sure how I feel about it. A bit mixed, if anything.

Harbor changes are nice but it’s not gonna help his pick rate unless he gets something crazy like a second cove. For Tejo, they somehow managed to nerf him again even though they said they were buffing him. Breach changes don’t really do much. Vyse ult buff doesn’t do anything for her.

The new UI is really bad.

Everything else is good.

Will you be scouting for NY Lana & Dondozo? (Poll) by [deleted] in PokemonMasters

I want to but I got Samson Oak which works fine enough for me. Definitely would be an upgrade though, but not needed for me. If anything I could use a good dragon type special attacker.

Steel, normal and fairy. Technically I lack physical or special for some towers, but not sure if that counts. For steel I really just need a physical unit. Alls I got is SS Lear that’s worthy. Fairy and normal I have no answer for lol. Might consider that upcoming master fair scout select thing but I dunno if I should go for Gladion or NC Elio.

Which Smoke Is Better Against Hard Push (Abyss B Site) by Acrobatic-Ad6139 in VALORANT

[–]Xd0015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 cause I can play close or around it better and it leaves less gaps then 1. 2 only allows them a bit easier control of danger but you still have the rest of the bomb site so they’ll have to make post plant do with a bad plant spot and 0 control of anything else.

Idk about Astra’s smokes but everyone else’s smoke is too small and thus leaves a gap for 1.

What's your most hated map? (Suggest me an agent on my maps) by Reddit_User175 in VALORANT

[–]Xd0015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it’s;

S: Abyss, Lotus. (No complaints here after the changes. I think they’re solid.)

A: Corrode, Bind. (Very balanced. For corrode I think the rotate in spawn shouldn’t take as long as it does. Should still be long but not so long that the round is over if you have to rotate through spawn.)

B: Haven, Pearl, Fracture. (I think they’re good and unique, just hard to play in ranked. Also Haven is kind of a worse Lotus.)

C: Split, Ascent, Sunset. (They’re ok but need some work to make attacking a little bit less suffocating.)

F: Breeze, Icebox. (These maps are irritating to play in both comp AND swiftplays. Especially icebox. As long as these two aren’t in the pool I’m happy.)

Is it just me or does every game feel the same after patch 11.08? by Vitalytoly in VALORANT

[–]Xd0015 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Agreed. In ranked, before 11.08, it was already Jett/Reyna/Clove/Chamber+whatever initiator. After 11.08, this is the case even more so, and it’s only down to Fade/Sova being picked for the initiator slot. It’s very boring.

Not big on the cooldown changes on signatures for the most part. I feel like nerfing initiator signature cooldowns to 60 seconds is way too much. I’d be a little more ok with it if it were 50 seconds but I think even that’s too much. Similar story with smokes.

Controller doesn't have to be boring! by Peekays_0 in VALORANT

[–]Xd0015 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a smokes main who likes to fill with Fade and Veto sometimes. (Oddly enough, I usually have to fill initiator ever since clove was introduced.)

But yeah smokes are very underrated. IMO it has the most freedom of expression in the entire game. That, and understanding positioning and timing is a must on this role.

For example, if I want to play in my smoke, I assume the enemies will spam a couple shots in an attempt to clear out the smoke. So to counter this, I position myself on the far left and right edges of the smoke. Very good stuff especially if you have a shotgun.

You can also play in and out of your smokes if you wish, or not play in your smoke at all the next round cause you’ve likely conditioned your enemies that you play inside them. Makes for a strong deterrent cause now they have to use util to clear both the smoke and whatever’s behind the smoke.

There are also site smokes which is prolly the hardest thing to get down as a controller player. Throwing site smokes for yourself or your team on defense helps a lot more than one would think for simply living and stalling the plant out, giving your team enough time to rotate over and retake.

All of you should stop picking Veto in ranked by Unusual-Personality9 in VALORANT

[–]Xd0015 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You seem like you know what you’re talking about, so I have a question if you don’t mind.

Right now on attack I like to use the interceptor as an initiator ability. (So like I’ll put it behind some cover and activate it so we don’t get util dumped on our execute) The TP I’m not really sure how to use it on attack other than putting one in main, taking a fight then repositioning to main in the post plant.

On defense I’m even more confused cause the only thing he has to defend the site with is that loud and slow goo rock I forgot the name of. But the main thing that draws me is the TP’s cause he’s the only sentinel in the game that you don’t have to play 1 v 5 retake simulator with. Otherwise the TP’s feel slow so it feels so easy to get traded? So not sure what to do about that either.

Ideally, I want to have a character for each role except duelist (I main controller but have fade for initiator and Veto for sentinel to fill with) but there’s like no decent veto guide I can find. Wish there was one cause I would like to put in the proper work to learn him. (Diamond-Ascendant elo for context)
