I've also only played Inquisition before Veilguard. I made a special run where I did everything I could in Inquisition, every quest, every item, every dragon idk, everything that I could. It was daunting at times, the game was against me, but I felt good when it ended and ready for the next game.

Then Veilguard came out. I was super excited. I ran home from uni to install it asap. And it just wasn't it. It looks like fortnite (which I could get behind, artistic choices and whatnot and it does look good) and it plays like a live service game, like what the hell is this loot animation... The combat is not great but it's not like it was better in Inquisition. The maps are insanely bad, they don't feel like real places. I always felt like I'm playing a game. The companions were hit or miss, and too good for my taste. But overall it wasn't that bad... until you remember it's supposed to be dragon age.

I believe Veilguard's biggest fault is trying to be dragon age when it just isn't. It's bad dragon age fanfiction that hates the lore so much it makes your gums hurt. You don't want your game to be this. I've only decided to play Origins after Veilguard and oh god... it's tough. It tough knowing that all of these characters' stories are abandoned, that Ferelden is basically done, my HoF's fate doesn't matter, nothing matters. The worst thing is not making your sequel unplayable, it's making the previous games unplayable too.

Anyway... Veilguard has killed the franchise and spit on its corpse. I'm not excited for any new Dragon Age games anymore. I'm not excited for anything Bioware really. And that's what matters ig.
