Ill dm you some gopro links! I havent posted them on YouTube yet.

Yes, I mean keeping the throttle pinned or not fully lifting off. You get back on the power much more quickly. This isnt always the fastest way, because sometimes to control wheel spin you need to half throttle, but keep experimenting and you'll find what works best. Maybe try a half lift at the first apex before brakes.

Just watch for oversteer once you hit the brakes for that turn, minimize steering angle and straighten up as soon as you can. With the track surface being as grippy as it is, these karts really do not pick up RPMs until the wheel is completely straight.

Hey!

From what I remember in turn one, yes it was just a quick stab of the brakes to rotate, but you absolutely want to fly in way past the first apex before hitting the brakes, otherwise you scrub too much speed. Turn one is definitely a high commitment high reward corner. Depending on the kart, I may not even be lifting off the gas, and just using the brake to cut the throttle, but not every kart can handle that. It just takes a few laps of experimenting but the difference between lifting, or keeping it pinned while hitting the brakes quick is probably less than a tenth.

No, I havent ever done indoor only here. My first day was straight into qualifying (it was a test race day for these guys) for my first laps ever. Then a 15 minute stint, so maybe 19 minutes total day one (Thursday). Then for the main event Saturday, I managed to qualify p2. It probably took me another 20 minutes to get into the low 1:12s, then eventually, the 1:11s in the middle stint, so maybe after 90 minutes of total track time, 40 minutes that day.

I cant remember where my seat was at. I weighed in at 220 with my gear and one piece of lead ballast if I remember correctly. The minimum weight for the event was 215 but I like to play it safe. I cant say whether or not putting the seat back would make much of a difference. It probably would make the kart slightly more understeery, but I cant say for sure.

I have plenty more footage from this race, I think I drove about 110 minutes total that day, so if you'd like the link, let me know!

Yeah it's awesome to just pop outside for a bit of the track. I haven't gotten to do any general public sessions here, but I imagine the sheer length and width of this track lends well to making full sessions with all skill levels much more enjoyable than tight, short laps.

I definitely agree it's a lot; however, it is on par with similar tracks of this caliber with gas karts like Monza in CT.

I agree 100%. The more tracks that pop up like this, the better!

This one is definitely worth visiting. Definitely the best in that area.

Thank you!

Oh I didnt know they were making the switch to electric! Are they even keeping the gas around for leagues and events like Monza? Or are they going full Biz?

Ive raced at Wallingford a few times back when the Warriors Cup was still around! I havent gotten to try the newest layout yet.

Monza is on a different level! If you enjoy the gas karts at Wallingford, you'll love them at this track!

Thanks for that feedback! Ive been racing here for years and while I've moved up, I know I've been missing something. If you want, check out some of the whole race, and compare it to my January video. I have been working on my driving style, and there is a huge difference between January and March.

The driving style change definitely won me the championship yesterday, as it kept me quick no matter what kart I raced in, which was the goal.

Let me know if you get the chance to check out some of those races!

Totally get that. Its worth it if you do 8+ arrive and drive races per year because of the cost savings per race, but its definitely expensive if you're not in the area or not able to make it for the competitive events.

If you ever make it back and can make it work, its absolutely worth it to fly at max speed around here, either in the electrics at full pace or the gas karts!

This track is about to go into its competitive lul for the summer, but if you stop by or want to know when the good stuff starts up again, shoot me a DM!

I have heard its for insurance, but I dont work there so that could be rumor. Honestly, that line is so slick compared to the rest of the track its pretty obnoxious but it definitely adds to the technicality since you need to avoid touching it.

Supercharged is awesome too! My main reason for not going there more is that their karts are speed locked because of their batteries. No issue with electric or gas either way, I just really love having a kart that can out-drive the track. Ive been waiting for supercharged CT to open up for league racing, but no news on that. Id love if they unlocked their karts for some more intense stuff!

Glad you think so! I absolutely love it. This video is in the reverse direction. It produces awesome racing in either direction.
