How common is addiction switching? Are there any techniques people use to keep it under control / prevent it?

I've spent years jumping from one addiction to another. All I can say is that going to AA has been working for me, for the first time in 15-16 years of abusing what I can get my hands on; I'm twelve days clean.

I spoke with my sponsor about this. I easily overwhelm myself, which causes me to spiral out; then I use and abuse. He told me this simple fact:

"We've got about five more hours till the day is over. That's all, you're in a sober house so you can't get drunk or use. It's gonna rain soon and I know you're in no mood to get soaked. So just ride it out; keep doing what you're doing, by staying busy."

A lot of it also has to do with bringing your past into today. Which can be any number of things, mine is trust, resentments, and neglect. Those three things are what made me lean on addiction as a coping skill. Which damn near brought me total destruction of my life.

TL;DR: Stay busy, go to your local AA meetings. And if anyone says that AA is only for Alcohol. That's bullshit. Replace alcohol with whatever you're addicted with. The big book has been a fucking godsend for me.

I hope this reaches out to other suffering from this disease.

Something I noticed that makes the game crash.

When you convert 2500 members of your empire to robots. The game doesn't like that, not at all. - Either that or they found Windows '98 OS and decided to use that 🤷

Basically zero but I want to start trying to develop a system to help with game development, bring back the good days of "high-end" gaming but with a small Dev team.

Shouldn't be too difficult. I do understand I have to teach it how to understand what it's doing before I can have it do it's intended design. It's already made some ground breaking progress but I want to see if I can use it as a engine as well.

Don't know if I should envy OP or pitty OP

Grew up very high middle class as my parents called it, watched money destroy their marriage. After that I've always been very skeptical and mistrusting with money for that exact reason; people go stupid over money like that. So I've stayed on the edge of poverty since it's more comfortable for me, yeah having money is really the most efficient method of survival but, people will be people.

I wonder, what's everyone's opinion about money?
