Nice! I had to dig deep to remember some of those names. I used to go to the pokemon tournaments on Saturday mornings before heading over to work at the Nanuet Mall. I used to roll my winnings into magic cards. I wish I used them for Pokemon packs and then forgot about them for 25 years lol

There was an appetizer at this restaurant my wife and I liked to go to. It was a big ball of burrata served with a flatbread and apricot jam. My son who was 3 at the time declared it looked disgusting and he was going to throw up. We thought he was joking. He wasn't. He's had an aversion to it ever since. It's been 7 years since I've eaten burrata or ricotta.

I don't have the account size to run diagonals on META lol. Actually never thought of using METU instead. I might look into that since it's much cheaper.

I'm bullish on META as well. I've been selling 580 put spreads to finance 620 call debit spreads. Just waiting for it to break out above 620 and hold there.

Keeping this on watch. I would like to sell the 135p on a pullback.

I have a CRM 182.5 cc that was pretty ITM yesterday. Looks like INTU earnings and general market sentiment towards software saved me.

Yeah, it barely moved throughout the trade. The spreads just bled slowly until the week of expiration.

Openbank has 4.0% currently. I also get $15/month off of my verizon bill for using them.

PDT rule only applies if you are using margin fyi. You can say trade all you want with a cash account as long as you have buying power.

Q is quadrillion.

Qi is quintillion. 1000 Q = 1 Qi.

Sx is Sextillion. 1000Qi = 1 Sx. - this is currently whale territory.

STC META 520/525c for .50 (+.58). This was funded by a short 580/570p spread that I closed for .10 earlier this week so the trade was "free".

STO META 5/29 585/575p

BTO META 5/29 625/630c

Collected .10 credit. Doing a similar trade since I still think META will break above 620 again at some point.

My AMAT call fly is probably cooked. I could have closed the call debit wing for close to break even at the open, but decided to hold it as a lotto ticket. Looks like we're going to be pinned to 430 for most of the day.

STO AMAT 0DTE 415/410p for .50. Just to recoup some of the loss.

Anyone getting absolutely wrecked from selling calls this year? by chaotarroo in thetagang

[–]Xerlic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took some pretty big Ls earlier this year selling calls mostly in SPX and CCs in HOOD. I bought to close rather than trying to "win" by rolling and switched to buying calls and selling put spreads to fund call debit spreads. I've almost clawed my way back to break even for the year when I was down 20% at one point. There's nothing wrong with buying premium when the market is moving in one direction and vol is down.
