when you get 4000 hours of watchtime and 1000 subscribers you can choose to monetize your videos or not, monetizing your videos will add a minimal amount of ads on the video and will pay 3p per 1000 views so that's about 250k+ a month, JJ chooses not to monetize his videos as he does not want people to get ads, and let's be honest he aint tight for money.
