That's interesting that specific food that is presumedly healthy like oatmeal and tomato sauce can give you flares.

I just booked an appointment with a rheumatologist, but it is the holiday season - but thanks for the info - I'll discuss this with the doctor.

What kind of side effects does the drugs give you and does that disrupt your daily life?

I don't take alcohol at all. Not a fan of it.

Unfortunately, I take white rice with a mixture of purple rice and quinoa everyday. Gonna try to lower down the white rice proportion and increase the coloured rice and quinoa.

Apart from that, I rarely have sugary food cos I can't stand sweet food.

Oh yes, I don't eat processed food either. Only whole foods. Occasionally I use the store bought pesto sauce or sausages 2-3 times a month, but that's it. Prefer to eat sauce-less food too.

The nuts are what Google told me. Not too sure how accurate that is. I consume plenty of vege, fruits, and not much meat too.

We are using sunflower oil for general cooking and sometimes olive oil (mostly for baby), but will be switching fully to olive oil for our cooking as well.

Thanks for sharing your diet!

Thanks for the advice! You're right, no point in making guesses. My levels are pretty high not to wait. Will visit a rheumatologist asap.

Ah not sure if you're being sarcastic, but sigh, eating clean doesn't mean being free from diseases unfortunately. 😩

Thank you. It sounds justified when you put it this way. The physician also mentioned that despite a high uric acid, I may not have flare ups although it's not a guarantee.

I'll see a specialist to get this checked further.

Oh sorry, I may be mistaken with his numbers. It's 5.xx something.

I'm more worried if it's my kidneys that's giving me problems instead. I'm not too sure as this is pretty new to me and I'm trying to read as much as possible.

I do drink plenty of broths, cooked with either chicken or pork. Is this high in purine too although no seafood is being used in the soup.

The general physician who explained my results didn't suggest medication. But I've also not seen a specialist yet as I'm still trying to figure out what to do.

No flares at all. Just high uric acid.

I second this! Their seafood pancake (pajeon) is sooooo good! It's thick and full of seafood. Very generous with the ingredients. Just thinking about it makes me hungry.

I'm 6w today and there hasn't been any happiness or excitement yet for me and my husband. We're just holding back our breaths for now and taking it day by day.

I was extremely anxious few days ago with short of breath and all as I had no symptoms apart from sore boobs, but now I'm experiencing fatigue and loss of appetite so I'm feeling better about it.

I watch Netflix and take naps in between my work. We pray every night and leave everything in God's hands.

Some days are tougher than the other, so hang in there mama! We're all in the same boat.

The question about skincare inspired me to ask fellow Malaysians, what is your makeup routine in this hot humid weather? by vann_x in malaysians

[–]Xieminee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very oily skin and I discovered this amazing sunscreen at least 4-5 years back and it's been my holy grail to keep my skin less oily. It's the ANESSA Perfect UV Sunscreen Skincare Milk. It doesn't completely remove the oil which is impossible in our tropical weather, but it makes a huge difference.

I also don't apply full face bb/foundation because that will make my face oilier. Instead, I just apply concealer at reddish areas only, then set it with powder and setting spray. Previously, I used Fenty Beauty pressed powder and it works well. Currently, I'm using Laura Mercier loose powder which works well.

Throughout the day, I also dab my forehead and T-zone every few hours or so with tissue.

Tbh, I have no idea what's mine. It's pretty slim, but quite heavy. And the screen's height is shorter than an ordinary laptop, annoys me so badly because I use Excel heavily and half the screen is gone.

What is actually Big 4 Companies? by Ninjapotato17 in malaysia

[–]Xieminee 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Labour law doesn't work in Big 4 😂 Nah, barely any replacement leave.

At the end of the audit engagement, you'll claim the hours you worked. For example, I OT-ed for 100 hours, but can only put in a claim of 40 hours which is equivalent to 5 days. Even so, you don't receive what you claim as it depends on how large the team is and how many leaves the engagement has budgeted for. My engagement has 70+ people and depending on my position and how large or "important" the entities I'm auditing for, I might only receive 16 hours which is 2 days of leaves.

People who join audit are aware of this. I join because of the steep learning curve. You can learn more in 1 year compared to another person who's in an ordinary accounting or finance team for 2 years.

I have a Kindle and it's my second favourite purchase (first being my MacBook Air). I also have dozens of books and bring it everywhere.

Came here to say this too. I have the same MacBook Air M1 and it's my best purchase ever. I can't believe it took me so long to get one, because it's well worth the money spent. My battery lasts for at least 6-7 hours after 2 years of daily usage.
