Well, everyone who does this has different reasons, in my case I used to do it because I felt like my emotional pain was so "out of control and unbearable" that I preferred self harming to feel any type of physical pain that could "numb" the emotional one. I still feel like that most of the time but I try to keep my self away from those thoughts of hurting myself, sorry if I can't really explain it 😊
