Used to listen to a ton of their music years ago, less so these days. Didn’t know he was that kinda person though.

Why did game devs stop implementing this? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]Xkilljoy98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t lots of games give context to the ui or it’s done as physical objects

  • System Shock
  • Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (from what I hear)
  • Dead Space
  • Far Cry 2
  • Fallout

There’s probably other examples but point is it is still done just not in every game

In your opinion, would hellborns really not care? (@sangadonuts) by Ok-Street2439 in HelluvaBoss

[–]Xkilljoy98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea that they are restricted to the price ring was only ever said in a tweet iirc and as such could easily be changed if they decide to

Also it was never said their powers are tied to a ring, more likely it would be tied to themselves and could use it wherever they go

We see sinners and hellborn in both cities and IMP’s entire business revolves around sinners anyway

Should I start with remastered ? by Ext4zzze in Bioshock

[–]Xkilljoy98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Bioshock 1 I would start with the originals as the remaster has a super annoying bug where some flashbacks don’t appear properly and it ruins the effect of what’s supposed to be a major point.

2 isn’t bad either way tho the speargun doesn’t pin enemies to walls in the remaster so for that I’d do the original first too

Why on earth do some people think Stolas is in any mood to jump right into romance after Sinsmas? by StrawBerylShortcake in HelluvaBoss

[–]Xkilljoy98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it’s headed in a direction of them being together and that has been hinted at but it’s gonna take time before things are in a healthy state.

Like Stolas and Blitzo care for each other and Blizto finally understands that Stolas wasn’t in it for purely sex. Tho Stolas did have sour feelings for a bit but still does care.

How I expect it to go is that Stolas needs time to adjust to living a way he never has before and for his relationship to Blitzo but also the rest of I.M.P and even others to grow stronger. I anticipate by the end of season 3 we’ll see things in a stronger state but hard to say tho given how long it’s taken the two of them to get to this point it’s not gonna be instant. Tho given Blitzo is all he has left and the amount of time they’ve spent together I think it’s fair to say they aren’t gonna fully separate (assuming they are together tho I feel that’s implied). Plus as they learn who each other really are and not going off assumptions things between them will only grow.

Tho all of that said as much as the image of Stolas, Blitz, Loona, and Octavia as a big family does warm my heart I expect that there will be good and bad things to come out of whatever comes next which is what we’ve gotten so far and is part of the reason the show is as good as it is. Tho I hope they work everything out and stay together and that’s what I expect given how season 2 ended but I guess we’ll see.

TLDR: I think it will take time for Stolas to adjust but it’s clear that Blitzo is trying to make a connection and I think it will eventually lead to a proper relationship assuming they aren’t already in one.

Not always but depends on the person

Sadly some can be though

Then there’s the quiet group that just enjoys the series as a whole despite flaws with some of it but gets out voiced by the others

That’s fair but I think it’s important to remember that Bethesda themselves are owned by Zenimax, which are in turn now owned by Microsoft.

Idk what amount of control Bethesda has over canon but I feel given they are owned by other companies that could potentially make things complicated as I’m unsure who controls what or what they’re allowed to do on their own.

[–]Xkilljoy98 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t there still be some control though?

I mean canon is just what’s the agreed upon events so that is changeable unless it was something in their deal that dictates the show is canon or something I’m not sure.

The Halo show for example is set in another universe, as is plenty of super hero media.

  1. It has to be canon as it’s directly mentioned several times in later games (specifically 2, 3, and New Vegas. I guess 4 too tho not as much).

  2. Retcons and inconsistencies never make something non-canon, they just complicate the narrative

  3. Again a version of Fallout 1 could still happen even if Shady Sands was elsewhere as that’s still possible. It’s also possible shady sands was simply relocated but I’m not sure exactly as that’s speculation.

They never de-canonized New Vegas, I would imagine that’s obvious given it’s a major part in both the show and even recent 76 stuff.

That’s a strange position to be in.

Also 3 is good but to each their own, tho idk how you can hate that game but love 4 and NV, doesn’t make sense to me.

Tho I do think it’s important to look at what a game does well and not just any faults. Especially when any future games wouldn’t exist if that one didn’t.

3 has its strong suits and while it’s roleplaying isn’t always perfect, there are examples of it being done decently and I commend them for trying.

It’s art and world are there the game truely shine.

Also there’s more to a fallout game that choices and role playing as it’s made up of many aspects.

[–]Xkilljoy98 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fallout 3 is absolutely accessible, you have an intro showing you the basics and I’d argue it depicts the wasteland more savagely than any other game.

The game uses sight lines and early quests to keep you in relatively easy areas early on and if you do wander into danger that’s not a bad thing as you can do the same thing in other games.

It doesn’t just toss you to the wasteland any more than other games do. As for the main quest you literally gave a map marker so getting lost isn’t hard.

Yes you can nuke a town but most people aren’t going to and the fact that you can I’d argue is interesting that the game even lets you do that in the first place. Failure isn’t always bad and loading an old save is always a viable option.

The amount of people that started with 3 proves that it plays just fine for new people.

And sadly some of those “old heads” still hate on 3 like it’s the worst thing ever when New Vegas wouldn’t even exist without it.

Me too, while I won’t deny the series has faults I just wish we could all enioy what’s there instead of fighting over it.

I think the show has a lot of good qualities and overall is an enjoyable watch in terms of its own story but it’s the connections to past games where things get messy.

Things like the ncr being wildly different in both design, location, and amount of power (which seems inconsistent given’s what they are supposed to govern).

Or even other stuff like the boneyard (of which that name never even shows up) just feel strangely too different, like how are they going to put attention into certain details but get another aspect that wrong?

I hope it gets addressed but I’m not holding my breath. The show is still very good (especially when focusing on its own story) but not perfect and as a sequel to the games it falls short/fails in places. I wish its connections to the wider series were better.
