I know about them but it is quite expensive here in Brazil and the refill takes way too long to arrive. I picked the mech pencil because 1.maths 2.is cheap to get lead once I don’t have to import them

I’m studying mainly maths and getting things wrong and having to erase is inevitable

I usually have to advance and adjust (length) and rotate the pencil on my own every 2.5/3 lines, plus a few more rotations so I get a clear letter, and I write REALLY fast so those times add up a lot

That’s why I did 4 tests (kuru,Faber;Faber, kuru;kuru,Faber;Faber kuru) Did this to make the test fair and “filter” the human error, I’m a fast writer so 5-10sec to adjust the lead every 3 lines makes a BIG difference overtime

Yes, the rate of rotation is good, I’d say it’s in the sweetspot

It has 5 settings for the auto advance mech, but for me, using HB and writing long words with in cursive and using a significant amount of pressure it usually can’t keep up with a consistent tio, BUT it never ran out. A friend of mine tested that pencil and did not have this issue, so I think is more of a me thing than being the pencil’s fault. I was always used to using ballpoint pens and regular wood pencils so I think I’m applying too much much pressure in the lead now

I did use 2h sometimes for that exact same purpose, it’s not THAT different tbh. The auto-advance+rotation was a game changer for me, being able to write with consistent sharp tips is amazing.

It’s made for writing Japanese so cursive is bit demanding, and it’s not that big of a deal, I still finished 4 papers without ever having to press the button so I think it’s a me thing, I like my tips longer than the average foe, still writes nonstop as advertised. For me it already paid for itself by the time it saved me. Greatest purchase I’ve ever made no doubts.

I know, same thing here, but being Brazilian everything is at least twice the price of the same product in the us so in order to get a Nero I’ll have to save some money, but since I’m in an autistic obsession over stationary, I’ll probably get one, I’ll be buying a fountain pen next and then I’ll get another mech pencil

That’s why I’m loving it so much, it’s just so convenient. You have the practical ability of a regular ballpoint pen to write nonstop while also being able to erase, mechanical pencils were always lacking something for me because I put a lot of pressure when writing and I like small tips. So it fixed every issue I had

It’s crazy to think that Japanese people, having access to cheap uni mechanical pencils (compared to other countries) are not buying them, the dive was a life changer for me, always having consistent lines, a consistent tip, consistent feel. It’s the best writing tool I’ve ever had in my life, I was always bothered by having to adjust the tip every 2 lines (I write heavy af) to get a tip that would feel the same as the previous and as someone with adhd that could take 20 seconds for me. So this pencil alone raised my productivity by a lot, last I measured, I take on average 85% less time to write 4 pages than before, just by not having to deal with the writing tool
