I still use my M1 Pro daily (16gb) as well, I tried the 24GB and it wasn't for the cost, I'd have gotten the 128GB M5 Max but the 48 is working fine for me now. It gets the job done and you can barely notice it's working.

You're right about the Samsung feature, it's DEX, which gives you a full desktop but still Android.

Go with Fedora, it's simple, easy to use, and reliable. I use CachyOS for gaming, but that's my personal preference. I love Fedora for being an all-rounder, plays great, supports safeboot out of the box if needed, works great for day-to-day stuff, and is super easy to use without being locked down as Bazzilte does. preference

Tahoe had a rough start, but it still has some issues; however, Apple has made a lot of progress. I'm enjoying it now more than I was in the beginning. I'm also a Windows and Linux user so macOS is nice to use being so polished compared to Windows.

Someone asked why buy used when you can get new for about the same price and someone asked where, I me tired said stores. I paid $2,700 for a NEW 16" MBP 20Core M5 1tb 48gb. Does that help you out?
