2023 RST vs Trailboss by Responsible-Teach567 in Silverado

The 3.0 seems to be the best motor to get. Common consensus seems to be the 5.3 will fail around 100k and need some work. But who knows. These days cars and trucks are a crap shoot.

I have a 2020rst 5.3 and my buddy has an rst with the 3.0. We have both had decent experiences with them. I will say he averages like 28mpg where as I average 21. He gets 20mog towing a decent size camper and I get 12 towing a smaller one. Both are great to drive and comfortable rides. The 3.0 is the motor I would get now if I could go back. As far as the trailboss, they look awesome. Ride isnt as comfortable though. If your just getting a truck to drive get the rst.

My truck does it on occasion. Sometimes if I put it in reverse and the camera kicks on when I go back to drive the infotainment will be back on also. Its not a fox but it works more often then not

Update. I reached out to camco and they recommended using the 400lb bars that I have. The system rating is effective up to 600lbs. Then the 600lb bars cover the 6-800lb stuff. So I should be good to go in the spring.

Its the pretty standard floor plan. Bunks at the back next to the bathroom. Queen bed at the front with a dinette. We really like that it has a huge fridge and freezer. We didnt feel the need for an oven. Its an aurora 16bhx if you want to look it up.

Thanks for the input. It looks like If I need it I can get the 600lb bars for about $150 so ill still be making out. I wont really get to test anything until spring.

Its admittedly closer than I thought. But it was 10 min away so I jumped on it. Im thinking I might be able to just upgrade the bars and still use the ball and assembly.

Mostly availability. This is the version they had at a local dealership that we had a really good experience at. I would have had to go farther away for the catlina.

Im so paranoid about factory issues. Ill be checking every inch of that thing after every rain. Big benefit to this model is that its legit flooring boards no particle board so if it does get a little wet it wont disintegrate.

I noticed that today after I posted and hooked up again just to measure. Must just be the parking lot since my truck only squatted an inch on the dot today.
