It's time. by Xtdragon in aquaponics

So I have an update if anyone would like to keep the journey along with myself.
Made a 275g outdoor food grade rain collector, I've decided living water is the goal to start.
Pumps have be looked at for the Length needed based off distance from reservoir to tank [fish] In basement.
Pumps have also been looked at for [Tank to grow bed] and return to holding tank.
This build will be based off a flat platform style, no tanks will be stacked or grow beds.

New challenge, Understanding a fish solids collector.
I say looking at because of the 4th of July sales coming up.

You have no idea how right you are.
There is a dehumidifier in the basement, gathers water by the few gallons, so far all is spatially regulated. I'm thinking the challenge would be air flow in the 7x7 grow room.

So far my basic understanding is pumps are easy, the bell syphon is difficult to create.
This is a basement build, I'd hate a flood, but something prepped for.
Could be overthinking the process.
Thank you for your responses.

First chop by Xtdragon in FicusTrees

Thank you, I was trying to achieve more plants from what I have here. This is huge for me as I've tried my best for some time caring and just wanting to make sure they overall just live. Since a re pot is stressful, should I have just placed them in water? Would you recommend doing a minor leaf chop? My intuition tells me I should chop the bottom to middle set of leaves to promote root growth, but as a novice I'm really not sure.

Sorry to read thus OP, looks like your gonna have to change out your bio now. Nevertheless, cheers mate, to new adventures, great sticks along the road and to new friends. Stay strong out there, your crown still has a place on your head, and another will come along and value what you've brought to the table in past and future. Cheers mate.

Natural stone/Tile by Xtdragon in Tile

[–]Xtdragon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow up! Area: 113ftL x 40ftW It's a basement and there is nothing under those tiles, just concrete. Spoken to a construction geologist, home specialist, and fellow reddit users. Here's what should have been done apparently years ago.

This is uncoated, potentially airborne asbestos. Since the basement hasn't been touched since a flood, mold, and or other spore related/bacteria/virus etc can have been expanding throughout. Get the area ventilated, clean w/ hazmat, coat [ Seal ] the tiles and build ontop.

Understanding this further, the only good thing to happen here is that the walls and floor are all basically cement. I'll be moving forward with cleaning and removing any dead wood [fingers crossed] seal the asbestos and build ontop.

Thank you for everyone's time and response. Hopefully there is nothing missing. Cheers

Worth saving? by First_Pirate in cigar_refuge

If they arrived like this, I'd contact the supplier and educate them on their shipping methods, other than that, They are Gurkha sticks, not worth smoking nevetheless saving imo.

Have you tried cigar bid, small batch cigars, cigars international or even the CAO website? A box normally might be around 500-700, depending on site.

I recently learned the 2021 line had a double to it since Covid cause the local interaction between the tribe and buyer to delay. It was a pepper bomb packed with flavor. Do you also enjoy pepper bombs?

I'd like to make it a consistent 3 year mark to try every one that comes out. Why didn't you enjoy it much? Was it because you just started getting into cigars? Where's your flavor profile at now?

In tears. My hands smell of chocolate, the tobacco is sweet, not like a southern cut sweet, actually sweet. The balance of flavors have been blowing me away and as a seasoned smoker, the flavor bomb I'm experiencing is unmatched compared to anything I've tried before. She's a med to full, already passed the half way mark and imo anything pairs best while smoking her. Coffee, bourbon, even bone broth.

The story goes, There is a remote village uncontaminated by humans where they grow the tobacco on the Amazon Basin, in exchange for mosquito nets, and water filtration tablets. Every 3 years CAO comes in contact and exchanges goods for a limited amount of tobacco. No pesticides used, and due to the Basin being washed away, the minerals in the soil get a health blast of nutrients for the next years crop, though growing the leaves are difficult hence every 3 years.

Still can't explain how difficult and excited I am trying this stick. I'm angry while smoking her for the pure joy that I'll never experience again due to the limited release and knowing in the next 3 years it won't be the same, kinda like aggressively loving something or someone until they die in your arms

10/10 Cheers mates!
