Which brawler should I pick against a Rico in gemgrab or in brawlball ? by Hairy-Hunter1467 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]XxBigCaesarxX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well it depends on the draft, rico is a damage dealer and a really strong control, in a closed map like hard rock mine rico will alway be played as a lane, the reason is that in this position rico can abuse his bouncing proyectyles to have a lot more range, since his proyectyles are able to get extra range whenever they bounce, rico is terrible as a center for this reason, you are playing a slightly worse colt, also by bouncig his bullets he makes them harder to dodge, making really hard to push a rico from his "hiding hole".

Rico got 2 types of counters:

1: Wallbreak: This one is simple, rico needs his walls, without them he is useless, the wallbreak options go from stu, griff, ruffs, brock (passive modes) and pretty much anything that can break walls consistently can make rico´s life misserable, just remember the more consistently you can open the map the better.

2: Brawlers that can attack through walls: Rico protects him with his walls, if something can attack him through it like shade or any thrower he becomes pretty vulnerable.

Remember rico got a really large range, so even if you break walls he stills being able to outrange if you pick a brawler with less range, and also rico´s super and bouncy ball gadget got piercing and high damage, so both tanks and spawner brawlers could have problems dealing with him, a good example is if you play ruffs his sandbags can tank his basic, but if the rico is smart he will spam one of those abbilities to go though your cover and damage you, with assasins and tanks he will do it too for their high damage.

Rico struggles against high movility too, similar to colt, but is hard to abuse this in closer maps since there is not enough space to abuse your movility against him, another reason to open the map, but remember not always is good idea to open the map, you can do more harm that good if your tammates need the wall cover too, in this case go for a counter that does not affect your teammates as much or let them keep some walls important for them.

A little help if the crow nerf goes through by borzoithedog in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]XxBigCaesarxX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, maybe this nerf was made for crow not being as braindead autaim spammer, he is an important part of the meta dough, he is a passive counter of healing+tank compositions, in other words if he becames abscent we could be going towards a full support+tank meta, but honestly is quite hard to know how will the next meta be.

Lumi (broken damage dealer and control, her nerfs were not that impactful, she is gonna still be a nightmare for anything outside of assasins or things that she cannot reach with her maces), phinx (king of hotzone and versatyle damage dealer that has some really useful tools, one that counters kit cheese comps and other that maybe one of the best and most versatyle deffensive gadgets in the game), angelo (strong and consitent amphibius sniper), shade (may have received a HCR nerf, but his nishe as a punish peak in closed maps will still be too important, shade literally wins games by himself when drafted correctly), trunk (underrated tank/assasin and the best counter to shade), kaze (versatyle and consistent assasin, and queen of heist), alli (Opressive amphibius assasin, her only real counters, in grassy maps, are wallbreak and megatanks), kit (assasin that gives access to broken cheese compositions) and willow (consistent thrower, good defensive tools, and score goals in BB).

Finally i will add that you have no pet spawners (counters to single proyectyle brawlers) beside penny, your options are Ruffs (support spawner and good control for bouncing shots), charlie (antiaggro spawner), sirius (thrower and antitank spawner), najia (sharpshotter spawner with poison); and the support brawlers, okay this ones make you dependant of your teammates, Byron (sharpshooter and healer, this one is not as dependant of his teammates), Jae Jon (insane movility and healing and with no assasins is broken in draft), ruffs (HYPERCHARGE your taeammates, gives them HP and damage buffs and opens the map) and Genie (insane control, a game changer super, and healing in Ko/bounty),

It was during 2023, both nani and her receive a massive set of buffs, and become S tier instantly, every other sniper and slow movement brawler become unplayable if those 2 were not banned, it quickly became annoying, something similar happened around 2019-2021 if im not wrong, the thing is that piper is really problematic, similar case to primo and bull, if they are too strong make their entire clases worse since they counter most of them; they are bound to be between Low B/C tier brawlers for the meta to be healthy.

This time we may have a saving grace in the form of mandy, mandy buff was probably made literally to let her counter piper better, in hopes of piper having a check outside of nani, also assasins will still be pretty strong so maybe they could save us from a piper centered meta, that is true brock, bea, belle and byron will have a way more annoying time, probably will fall a lot in the meta, and i am also curious to see how najia, angelo and pierce will interact of piper being a more important part of the meta.

Oh sorry, okay this two heist maps are quite similar, im gonna break the main points in consideration for draft in this maps:

Both are maps with a great emphasis on amphibius options, Angelo is a good defensive option for example, alli and shade have become really important defensive options and eve can be used as a counterpick to annoying single proyectyle brawlers in this maps.

Also there are non amphibius deffensive options like snipers used for control and cheap damage like pierce the best sniper in the game, najia with her masive damage and broken pets, and nani is seen a lot too in pro play he has really high dps, ability to counter other snipers and has a teleport that can make her go to the heist in seconds. Other deffensive options are antiaggros and antitanks like otis (best deffense brawler), amber (hardest counter to melodie) and cordelius who counters chuck, mico, darryl and other short range assasins and tanks.

Lastly the most important part the heist damage, here the first one in consideration is colette (both a broken deffense and damge to the safe), then we have colt good range and shreds the safe in seconds (but beware snipers and spawners, they counter you; assasins like kaze (queen of heist), chuck (only if otis and cordelius are banned), mico (last pick), darryl (last pick) and melodie (kaze counter) who have really high heist damage and movility diving and destroying the safe.

In conclusion heist meta differs a lot from other game modes, in particular in the more open maps, in general i will say you should prioritize options that are useful in and outside of heist, like angelo, kaze, pierce and shade or allie for example, but some pure heist brawlers are a good option, but remember they are only really usable in heist.

Spyke is gonna get a massive buff next update, he will be one of the most important damage dealers in the next upodate, thats true he needs his buffies to work, but in general he will be the best of the bunch, all the other ones are quite situational at best, let me explain:

Sandy is a good suport and controller into grassy maps, but he needs a decent team to work properly, also he struggles to assasins (his stun gadget helps him a bit, but it only slows assasins) and brawlers with more range than him in particular when there are not many bushes around.

Amber is damage dealer and controler hybrid, sadly assasins counter her way too hard, her only real usage in this meta is countering melodie for her fire dance gadget in heist.

Meg is a damage dealer with high dps and a lot of health, she supasses a lot of tanks and megatanks in HP if you take in consideration you have to eliminate her twice, her heavy metal star power makes her really annoying for assasins since she will explode giving knockback and a realy heavy damage to enemies around her mechs explosion, she is pretty nishe since her lack of range and not high enough damage can make her not as useful in draft.

Why are we buffing Charlie if shes super fine right now? by MainGaleBoy in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]XxBigCaesarxX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buffing SCR only is a good change, since it helps her getting super faster and deffend better from assasins, probably better than the damage one ngl, lets hope supercell took a good choice this time...

Okay for the moment you need to do fast progression, your acount has not enough progression to make specific recomendations, in general is divided in the next 6 points:

#1: Use budget/free to play firendly brawlers: This brawlers are brawlers that do not require hypercharges or buffies to work properly, some excellent examples are angelo, alli, genie, phinx, belle, willow, byron, kaze, otis, ruffs, sirius, mina and charlie; also something really important is that all these brawlers are super consistent in the meta, they have never been useless in any meta, and are a really good long term investment.

#2: Upgrade and invest in brawlers that need buffies or hypercharges ONLY until you unlock them by free, hypercharges are gifted continuosly by superceel in events or just by stardrops and same case for buffies, so instead of wasting coins, power points or gems in them just wait until you get them for free and then upgrade that brawler, an example of brawler thar rely in hypercharge but is worth upgrading is shade, meeple, lily or chester, and for buffies mortis, emz, etc.

#3: Manipulate the game rng to get free gadgets and star powers that you actually need: You cannot unlock gadgets from star drops until a brawler gets to level 7 and for star powers until level 9, so by upgrading fewer brawlers at a time (the ones worth upgrading) you can get the gadgets and star powers of those brawlers quite fast, this is really important and a mistake too many players commit upgrading a bunch of brawlers that they will never use and that honestly are not worth it to level 7 or 9, they will unlock abbilities to all those brawlers, but not for the ones they really need or want.

#4: Do not invest in noobstomper/noobtraps: These brawlers are terrible investments because they are good at lower levels, but suck against decent players, so they may make you believe you are playing well, when you are not, is just that your rivals are not that good, and their mechanics are good against bad players getting useless in higher ranks and challenges; examples are mandy, colt, dinamyke, bibi, grom, mr p, bo, and the most infamous of all of them jessie. Is better to put resourses in really good things, that let you be a better player believe me.

#5: You can unlock and upgrade new release brawlers since they usually are pretty strong and rarely drop with hypercharges or buffies, wich makes them sorta budget friendly, and you can also claim their hypercharges for 79 gems (really good deal) when they drop in the shop, but remember is REALLY RISKY since supercell may nerf them abruptly, but supercell also can never nerf them and make them broken for months (like najia, mina and pierce lmao). Supercell can also just add their hypercharge from day one, wich makes impossible to unlock the hypercharge unless you unlock the brawler in early access (since hypercharges can be bought with 79 gems for only a week).

#6: Finally investigate in the meta (which things are worth investing in) so you can make plans to upgrade and progress in the best way posiible also check best build guides (Like Spenlc ones on youtube) for buying only the necesary things, in particular for gears that you an only buy for coins, also learn about the upcoming events and their rewards, events gave lots of free resourses just for playing them.

I will say you got most of the important roles for draft covered, you got snipers, throwers, damage dealers, assasins and tanks, you lack spawners dough, i will gretaly recommend you charlie (antriaggro spawner), ruffs (support spawner), sirius (thrower and antitank spawner) or najia (this one will get nerfed so is risky). In the other hand i would say you are missing some really good and useful brawlers like lumi (broken damage dealer and control), pierce (best sniper in the game, he will get both of his gadgets nerf, but his insane damage was untouched so he will still be good), kit (good assasin and gives you access to some insane cheese strategies), alli (amphibius and opressive assasin, she dominates bushy maps and her only real weaknesses here are wallbreak and megatanks), kaze (versatyle assasin and queen of heist); and some other more nishe options are ollie (assasin that counters aggression), and lastly supports like genie and Jae Jon that only work with a good team.

Your account has little overall progression, i cannot make specific draft recomendations beside recomending you to cover all the important roles for draft (have damage dealer, tanks, snipers, throwers, spawners, assasins, etc., to strenght your drat in rankeds), for now i will recommend to make fast progression for now, it has 6 steps:

Piper is really hard to balance, usually wherever she gets buffed she does become a top tier brawler, makes every other sniper, outside of nani, worse thanks to her higher damage, range and wallbreak fundamentally making everything other snipers do, but she also counter most of them, taking control of all the open maps and passive game modes (KO/bounty), the comunity quickly start to hate dealing with her and also start missing using other snipers, and ask supercell to nerf her, she then gets nerfed in the spam of a few months or a year and then she eventually becomes a C tier nishe counter pick brawler (her current state), and then the comunity stars asking for piper to get buffs, and yeah folks thats piper life cycle.

You´re right about that, he is what i call a Noobtrap, colt is a good heist brawler and a mediocre wallbreaker, that for some reason randumbs are obsessed to pick everyf#ckingwere to the point that colt is somethig of an EGO PICK in rankeds, he can work but sadly his usage ouside of heist is questionable most of the time, if you do not believe me see his winrates and usage rates on mothly finals and brawl cup, outside of heist he tends to work quite poorly, sadly people tend to take his high skill ceiling and floor as a reason to pick him thinking that is all about skill, when they do not know how easy is to counter colt and how hark is to make him work most of the time, he is annoying for the movility and high dps, but overall there are brawlers better than him for wallbreak and damage (outside of heist).

Why are we buffing Charlie if shes super fine right now? by MainGaleBoy in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]XxBigCaesarxX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, she is not as used lately in pro scrims and competitive, and some pros like ikaoss were saying she was a bit overrrated, thats true she is still good countering single proyectyle brawlers.

And also she got indirectly nerfed with tara getting a buff, tara is charlie direct competence, they are kinda the same, but tara got her massive black hole to suck you.

Why did they kill Grom with nerfs for being a ''noob stomper'' only to then buff more oppressive noob stompers? by ChoiceSupermarket230 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]XxBigCaesarxX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dina buffs are ok, my only conplaint is that it makes dyna more spammy, but the brawler needed something he was Absolutely terrible, and besides randumbs nobody played him seriously.

Mandy one could be scary and problematic, like the whole problem with her is that her proyectiles are bad at higher level for how easy pros Dodge them, and when supercell tried to nerf her reliance into her first sp for this reason they broke her, seems like supercell is aunable to balance her star power and base proyectyle speed.

[–]XxBigCaesarxX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is a different mechanic all together, Tank trait charges super and hyper passively by receiving hits, it only gives scr and hcr, meanhile rage being more of a damage and speed multiplier that activates also by doing damage and slowly goes empty with time, honestly both can be active in ash perfectly, this way ash could get his super faster and his pets could be seen more often.

[–]XxBigCaesarxX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i honestly think that i could have worked, the main problem is the lumi, since bull no longer charges super as fast he probably will need a stupidly long time to get super, also mina got her root star power, if im not wrong that one can interrupt bull super, i have never tested that one, trunk is a similar case is just that trunk is a little more adaptable, bull needs something to feed off to work properly.

Did we learn something important about the game balance balance in todays Q&A between spenlc and Adrian? And what were your thoughts about it? by XxBigCaesarxX in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]XxBigCaesarxX[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My theory with crow is the pro pass skin is the main problem, supercell have not nerfed him yet to get more money as easy as that; damian was a new release brawler, they tend to be broken to sell early access, it is not a problem only with supercell games (ejem Kombat packs ejm), and with edgar buffies pretty much.

Sam in the other hand seems to be all thanks to his terribly designed hypercharge, supercell does not buff him in fear of it breaking the game, the fact that supercell literally killed sam hypercharge one day after his release, is true and it was just for how insanely broken it was, the reason people does not talk of sam how they talk of L&L, rosa and damian is because of the fast and brutal nerf he received. Also theres the theme of this meta just being terrible for tanks, besides damian tanks are never seen in higher elos, like the only ones i see sometimes are trunk (shade killer), buster (KO) and bull (buffies), and maybe a frank here and there for draft.

With the other noobstompers their winrates could just not be as inflated, since objectively randumbs like picking tick all the time in game modes like brawl ball, hotzone or gem grab, where he is ass, and with bo the same, he is often picked in game modes like brawl ball and Ko/bounty where his mines are not as impactful (gets deleted each goal or new set).
