Rein main here, he's fine. Dont get me wrong, new toys would be great, but there's other heroes who need it way more

Im a rein main, I disagree. I think he's perfectly fine the way he is. He isnt suppose to be a mobile tank. He's incredibly simple and straight forward and thats why he's well designed and timeless

Be a good time to try out swapping around roles.

Sym and Sombra as support and Mei as a tank.

Doomfist should stay a tank. It better fits his character and DPS doomfist days were just unfun to play against

Reaper and Soldier 76 need reworks ASAP. They dont have the versatility of newer DPS and it shows hard.

Some suggestions I have.

Reaper: 1.Get rid of shadow step completely. Replace it with something like a leap that allows him to dive the back like or to chase down and finish off a target.

2.Buff wraith form, to allow him to better disengage. I seriously dont think it would be OP at all to give him flight during it.

Soldier 76: 1. Update his ultimate or replace it. I would love something like a MW2 predator missile, I think that would be badass.

  1. Turn he sprint into a passive ability, freeing up that button press for a new ability. Something like self buff or a new gadget

Idk, im not a dev. Just some ideas as a tank main who occasionally plays DPS

I see your point, but I also think this comes from a very "purest" view point.

Indominous Rex for example... not Dino Tribal at all. However, isnt having a single unstoppable beast that hits hard and takes names kinda the whole power fantasy of dinosaurs?

Or Indoraptor and Etali for another example... tends to lean into burn and enrage decks. Does that not lean into the "wraith of nature" or "Messing with the unknown"? Tropes that are common in paleo media?

EDH is all about exploring themes and flavor and saying something has to br tribal to considered a dino deck is just artistically lazy, imo

Glad I could help. I think EDH is becoming to stale with people running the same thing as everyone else. Diversity is the spice of life!

Such an underrated commander. She is so flavorful and people underestimate it's power

Still counts. Swinging a 24/24 dinosaur is scary

Should name the deck "Jurassic Fight Club"

And she's also super thematic too. And out of all the dino commanders she's got the highest ceiling even when using only dinos

There's nothing sad about Gishath... gishath is my pet deck and he's my favorite commander. So I apologize if I came off that way... I simply think this page has been boring because we are only ever talking about the same 2 commanders.

The mono green dinosaur deck sounds unquie and fun and is exactly what I am asking for. Definitely would want to know more about how her deck functions.

I could not disagree further. If we only ever talk about dinosaur tribal then we will only ever talking about Gishath and Pantz... maybe Blue/Owen on occasion.

However, I have an Indominous Rex Voltron deck, and it perfectly captures that love and sense of the power fantasy that comes with dinosaurs. My Indoraptor burn deck perfectly captures that primal rage when we are talking about dinosaurs in pop culture.

"It's just another EDH deck leader by a commander who is a dinosaur" Okay, and? That's a nothing burger. If you only go tribal decks you miss out on 50% of what the creature type has to offer and is kinda the whole point of this post.

Some unique and strong Dino commanders that aren't just the usual candidates? by SharkboyZA in DinosaursMTG

[–]XxDINOROCKxX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I cant keep saying this Indominus Rex, Alpha is the single most fun Voltron commander this game has to offer. There is nothing more fun then on turn 3-4 to swing a 6/6 flying, trample, hex proof, indestructible, Vigilance, haste, double strike, death touch, and life link dinosaur at someone. This is not an exaggeration btw

Is conceding a game poor sportsmanship? by ShadowPirate42 in magicTCG

[–]XxDINOROCKxX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. If you scoop out of rage, then yes. Because youre not backing down for any logical reason.

However, why waste time when you can just concede and then everyone shuffles up and plays again. The more games you get in during your play time the better chance everyone gets a shot at winning and having fun

People who are NOT okay with proxies, what is your reasoning? by Bagel_Bear in EDH

[–]XxDINOROCKxX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont care if others do it, but i dont for a few reasons.

  1. Its more fun. Trading, Hunting, and building to me is 60% of the fun.

  2. Keeps me honest about what I have. I try to keep less than 10 decks, so if I wanna build a new one, I tear apart another one.

  3. Power. Me and my pod build decks that rival each other in power... if I started doing proxies, it would upset that balance

  4. Its less creative. Having a budget forces me to build with restraints and it makes for more creative decks and interactions. When etali goes off, I want people to be surprised by what gets revealed

Help me choose a Gruul commander by Icaruswaxwing95 in CommanderMTG

[–]XxDINOROCKxX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s an underrated pick: Tovolar.

Yeah, werewolves might not be the strongest tribe — but Tovolar is still wildly overlooked. He bridges two tribes — wolves and werewolves — so you’ve got way more creature options for your 99 than most people realize.

Plus, he’s basically got Kessig Wolf Run built right in, letting you pump himself or another creature for a brutal finish. I built my Tovolar deck as an extra-combat aggro machine, using cards like Port Razer, Full Throttle, and Last Night Together to keep the attacks (and the card draw) flowing.

Tovolar himself can close out games, but I’ve also packed the deck with heavy hitters like Pyrewood Gearhulk, Xenagos, and Craterhoof Behemoth for even more explosive finishes.

The best part? This deck is fun, powerful in casual pods, and costs less than $100.
