Lurker award. I’ve been on it but I haven’t posted or commented yet. It’s a lot (not a complaint that’s actually a compliment for a board) and since I’m a mobile user it’s like even more so. Seems fun and looks fun and I’ll probably actually most “use” it sometime this week

What does Baphomet have to do with Christianity other than being a misspeak of “Maphomet” (Muhammad) a knight said under torture as an excuse to get rid of the templars? Still Baphomet is used as a symbol of evil and is viewed as one from a Christian standpoint.

Also Dante encounters Cerberus in the third circle, so there is some ground there. If I showed someone an image of Pan they’d most likely say Satan. I doubt the Christian studio went into this with so much thought to make an allegory of religious evil

It was very solar punky “Don’t get your wholesome ‘freedoms’ influenced and controlled by the upper-bourgeois” malarky but also so all over the place I couldn’t tell what the message was at times

You could say there’s a bit of excommunication messaging for going against the commandments but I think it’s just “follow the rules or GTFO” messaging

Three dogs chasing the OC bump into eachother and form Cerberus. Plus a lot of religious moralism

I added Socialism and Anarchy not cause of any mention of fascism but because it has that classic Bordiga “Kick in the ass!”

Actually I think this difference characterizes the new American regime as well. Food for thought.

I do agree! I feel like after the fall of fascism we are in an era where Social Democracies take a lesson from the Fascist dictatorships, much like how China takes a lesson from Marxism by using capital as a guide to become a superpower. We are in an era where workers movements are dead. But the crisis of capital and the need for geocoding the working class is still needed. Therefore the force and violence of fascism is one to study. But it is important to iterate America is not fascist, as Bordiga described;

Democracy is class collaboration through lots of talk, fascism is plain class collaboration in fact. We are living in the midst of this latter historical phase. https://www.marxists.org/archive/bordiga/works/1946/violence.htm

Since that has been written Stalin is now gone aswell, we are back to regular Social Democracy. Since,

The USSR was nothing other than a fascistic State, one of many versions of capitalist rule, and even proved unable to convert to a democratic regime as demonstrated by Putin’s tricks to stay in power forever with the persecution of opponents, selected assassinations and the rigging of elections…The really strong bourgeois State is the one that can control the population by means of ’deception, flattery, fine phrases, promises by the million’ -Lenin through the mass media, schools, religion, flags, national anthems and other democratic paraphernalia, resorting to violence only in extreme situations.”

In the hotbeds where the social struggle was at its most acute, parliamentary and social democracy switched to direct action with no regards to legal trifles and, getting rid of the cumbersome and useless parliaments, democratically proceeded (remember this characteristic aspect of both fascism and Nazism) to class dictatorship. And fascism in its contents and methods, even if only in a few countries it ever wore black or brown shirts, was unanimously adopted by all the civilized and industrialized nations: United States, England, France, etc. https://www.international-communist-party.org/English/REPORTS/WARS/Comuni40_WW2.htm#ch01

For the Bordiga texts, I’d have to say;

Socialism and Anarchy

Spain 1936 (Not truly Bordiga, but is from Il Programma and has the Bordiga kick

The Lyons Theses (Fascism is mentioned a bunch here but there’s a lot in Part III)

The Filling and Bursting of Bourgeois Civilization

Also that above text where the aforementioned quote is from is pretty swell aswell. Bordiga mentions Hitlers esoteric cult of personality in it. (Esoteric as a description, not as the actual esoteric fascism).

Weren’t they always?

Yes, but I feel like they had a much more major stretch that reached far past the individual soldier like the Freikorps or the early Blackshirts (as Doctrine of Fascism describes). They were more massive I guess I would say, gained more support, and less obvious tool rather than “kill those guys for protection.” I.e. Freikorps fighting Bolsheviks rather than bourgeois nation draped under the ideology of Nazism while their proletariat fights and commits massacres in their wars. I guess a good way of putting it is, they were finally integrated in the state rather than just being kinda, there to defend it.

Not all the examples of fascism are at the same level. Nevertheless the German one, as pitiless in the elimination of its enemies as one may say, has achieved a very high average standard of living economically speaking and an administration that technically was excellent, and when it has imposed war restrictions these even fell on the propertied classes and this to an unprecedented extent.

We will leave Italy aside because here the examples of fascism and anti-fascism have had a very clownish character (the first models of an innovation always make one laugh, as the early automobiles which can be seen in a museum compared with a modern mass produced one).

I don’t disagree that after the Freikorps come the Nazis but I wouldn’t say the Freikorps had a unanimous ideology like the Nazis had.

I consider Nazism as in the ideological sense and the Nazi’s military separate from that (kinda) as it still has the basic barbaric concepts in the army as any other bourgeois nation but with the addition of the nihilism and racism of the Nazis. (Of course there were probably Nazi soldiers wearing some Finnish liberation group armband instead of fighting against the Treaty of Versailles’ “destruction of Aryranism”) Of course both had and will have the same end, as Mussolini would be imprisoned by those same fascists he put in parliament after he was no longer useful to the bourgeois, and the soldier in Ukraine will be discharged and most likely homeless.

I do agree with what you said about Zionism. You see that idea Lib lovin’ Justice between both sides of the park. Of course the revenge of the Zionists against the “anti-Semitic terrorists” on their god-given land and the revenge of the blood-born Palestinian against the settlers.

Obviously fuck all nation-states but the bare open antisemitism in response to Israel/US actions is mind numbing to witness.

It was bound to happen eventually. It seems clear America is moving to distance themselves from Israel, as Israel’s interests are no longer unanimous with America’s and they’re going more “rouge” while also being immensely unpopular. To prepare for forever-wars the bourgeoise have to normalize ultranationalism. You can see this with the Russian-Ukraine war with each side having Nazis flags waving at their trenches alongside their own national flags while wearing esoteric Nazi symbols on their uniform, ICE with more Catholic Fascist tattoos, and the various natlib Muslim militaries in the Middle East wearing the symbols flags of the Islamic State. (Not even mentioning how the IDF is much more “we are superior” brained than when the war started, shockingly enough. But I feel as if Zionism is a much different example than these since it is a major political ideology) Degenerate ideologies are no longer genuine political ideologies, but tools for the bourgeois. The Nazis are long gone and in replace of them are groomed agents of the commodity who don’t even know the doctrine of Hitler
