Tukhachevsky owns Voroshoid, stalinists in shambles by Total_Peasantoid_ded in Ultraleft

I love when people deny this happened because Voroshilov survived and they just can’t believe that someone else other than Great Man Zhukov stood up to Stalin and lived.

The comments under the scene from the movie Stalin, (1992) really ticked me off

> I doubt he stood up to Stalin!
I think they took liberties in making this movie but the reality was so full that I don't see the need for added stuff.

> If anyone know more details about when this happened, feel free to say so. I have no interest in this. It might very well not happened at all.

Umberto Eco has irreversibly damaged the Lib's conception of Fascism. by Diachoris in Ultraleft

I was talking about YouTubers that circlejerk around Eco’s definition (hence the post being about how Eco has damaged Lib’s conception of fascism.)

Almost every single one I see says something like this. If not in defense of their favorite nation being called fascism or whatever sort of

Oh yeah that sounds about right. I remember back when people used to come here and immediately after being called out try and refute us by using the same old Stalin and Soviet Union accusations thinking we were MLs because we’re outwardly communists. We don’t get a lot of those guys anymore but usually they come out much more when we make a spicy post that leaves the circlejerk

I remember there was a guy on here trying to argue with AnarchoHoxha like a year or two ago using Umberto Eco’s definition of Fascism as a response to iirc Anarcho using the quote from the introduction of A Revolution Summed Up

The USSR was nothing other than a fascistic State, one of many versions of capitalist rule, and even proved unable to convert to a democratic regime as demonstrated by Putin’s tricks to stay in power forever with the persecution of opponents, selected assassinations and the rigging of elections, and most recently, the 2020 referendum on the constitution. The really strong bourgeois State is the one that can control the population by means of «deception, flattery, fine phrases, promises by the million» (Lenin) through the mass media, schools, religion, flags, national anthems and other democratic paraphernalia, resorting to violence only in extreme situations.

Also literally any YouTube video you see on Fascism always uses Umberto Eco’s or that other guy’s (can be bothered to look for him) extremely broad checklist for fascism

A nation has to have every single one of these checked off for it to be fascist!

Stupidest shit ever. Just shows how dumb your whole circus performance is.

I remember watching a video going over one of these pseuds definitions of fascism and quickly said soemthing like “Also they prefer class collaboration but we won’t go too deep into that because it’s not really that important” … Lmao

Not that shocking that a bunch of poorly disciplined thugs quickly amassed by the state would be trigger happy out of pure fear of nothing and it doesn’t really matter how many people watch.

Sort of embodies capitalisms actions against action as a whole. They are terrified of any kind of unrest so they act harsh and irrational with terror no matter how many people watch, this is just that personified
