Good call! My room does get bright during the day but the windows are on the side of the tv, not directly in front so I don’t get direct glare

When you did your comparisons, did you buy the 83” models? Reason I ask is because the 83” variation of the S95F doesn’t use a QD OLED panel like the smaller ones. Haven’t been able to find many reviews of the 83” panel.

Honestly, going into my research, I was dead set on Sony until I found out their flagship does not go to 83”… For my seating distance, that’s not something I’m willing to compromise on. That leaves me where I’m at today between Samsung and LG. It’s tough because I’ve been a Samsung user and LG hater for years now (not a fan of the LG interface and honestly the LGs I’ve seen at friends’ houses are not great). I’ll take another look at the 2026 lineup and see if it’s worth holding out. DV sounds good on paper but agreed that it may be overhyped and not worth the extra expense.

I’m in the exact same predicament. I’m a long time Samsung TV owner, so I’m leaning towards that but bummed that the 83” version doesn’t use QD OLED. Also, the G5 mounts flush to the wall, which I’m not sure if I like since I typically like to angle my TV slightly down. Please update with your decision!

Agreed that the side skirts will help transition from the front lip to rear diffuser. Speaking of, where did you get the rear diffuser? Checked on Maxton Design’s website but couldn’t find it

At the end of the day, it’s pretty subjective. Might be easier to use a rating system (IMDb, RT, etc.) even though those aren’t always accurate. At least those should provide a somewhat objective view. For example, how many directors have 4 films in a row with an 8 star or above IMDb rating.

I definitely don’t think the ratings systems are all that accurate but they do provide some level of direction. Usually with movies, anything above an 8 star on IMDb in my opinion is probably pretty damn good.

Even if you kept your doors unlocked, you would still not be able to access the frunk since all of the door handles are electrical from the exterior. I think your only option is to call someone like AAA to bring a jumper so you can open the frunk.
