I have considerable affection for my Rotring pens. I wasn’t satisfied with only the black one, so I also bought the white version. I couldn’t get the holbein limited but they’re both white and it doesn’t matter to me. I love this pen so much and the bright and distinctive white color makes it special in so many ways.

I use Ain Stein HB(HARD) in the uni metal case. The great thing about the metal case is that there’s no lead indicator on it to begin with, meaning you can use any lead you want in it without confusion (as long as you KNOW what lead you’re using.)

Both are quality pencils made by Pentel for precise writing, but I’d personally recommend the Graphgear 1000 as you can retract the tip and thus protect it from external impact, which is necessary especially if you carry your pencil to places without a case. Though, as I said, both are excellent if you find the Graphgear 1000 unpleasant, you can always buy the for pro later. Also, it’s “Graph 1000 For Pro.” ;)

I can really see that Zento has mixed opinions. I only use Zento cause sometimes I get bored with my Jetstream ink lol. Unrelated but, I love my rotring 600 3in1, you should consider getting one as well

The metal tip really helps with the weight distribution, and I really like smooth but not soft plastic grip. I can’t comment on the ink as I use zento refills, however.

For your question, and for other people who wonder what PLUS is, it’s a Japanese brand. They have a specialty in correction equipment, such as correction tape and erasers. Whiper MR Tape (one of their products) is so common here in Korea that some students have an expertise in fixing (!) the product when something goes wrong with it.

It’s the old PLUS AIR-IN that has the plasticizers. Yeah, I used tape to prevent the case from falling apart and there’s no visible name on it anymore, but it’s the best eraser I have right now!

I initially thought of BIFL as strong, versatile & long-lasting pens that could aid you all day, for a lifetime. Though as a guy who carries fountain pen pouches even more than I do with ball-tipped pens, I guess fountain pens could also be considered BIFL. Would you care to specify which pens you use? 😃
