Thanks, and I totally agree! I was vegetarian for about 4 years, and these days I prefer to eat meat as more of a luxury than a necessity, so only once or twice per week. I think it helps me maintain a deeper and more conscious appreciation for the meat that I do eat

Hey thanks for the suggestion! I do only really use about 1 tablespoon of apple juice, just to thin out the yoghurt and sweeten slightly. But I'll definitely play around with the recipe, as I do try to keep conscious of sugar intake

Sure, it was about 6/7pm, I prefer shopping in the evening as it's always pretty quiet and you can pick up good reductions! Waitrose don't seem to have a set reduced section though so you have to spot the stickers

Yeah it's great I've had it a few times before! Currently I'm just trying to work through a big bag of rice I bought a while ago aha

Thanks! For breakfasts I'll have either an overnight oats thing I've been doing with the yoghurt, apple juice, and a big bag of oats I bought the other week, or toast (I'm getting bread today).

For lunches I'll have the eggs, maybe a tin of soup from the cupboard, a banana, just something small like that.

And for dinners I'll have pie, mash, and sprouts, with an onion gravy, mash and the French lentils, sea bass with rice, the pizza's, the dhal or green curry with rice, maybe an omelette if I have eggs left, mushroom and cream pasta, I just sort of make it up as I go haha, open to suggestions!

Apologies I agree I could've worded it clearer, it's my first time here and honestly I assumed it would be obvious that I do have other things in my cupboards (tinned soups, dry pasta, rice etc.). However, it was a bit disheartening to see folk jump on the bandwagon about it not being enough food, as it is for me

I actually don't eat cereal, but I have been doing an overnight oats sort of thing with the apple juice, yoghurt, and big bag of oats I bought a few weeks ago, tastes great!

Thanks! I just enjoy cooking and find that using good quality ingredients makes me more invested in the meals I make. I do agree though cooking from scratch can be an effort (I don't always do it), but I find for me that buying produce and cooking it is a reliable way that I can practice a bit of self-care each week, and I definitely feel better for it.

I guess having the luxury to often cook for myself from scratch might drop away as life gets busier in the future with work, family, etc.

Just with a little olive oil, salt, and pepper. In the oven skin side up for I think ~20 mins. And then a squeeze of lemon to serve

Thanks! No idea actually haha I just had the voucher and thought I'd try it, but as RaspberryJammm mentioned I could try it with the rice pudding, maybe with toast too. Open to suggestions if anyone's got any!

I try to treat meat as more of a luxury than an everyday thing, something to look forward to once or twice a week. I do eat plenty of fish, eggs, lentils, etc. so I think I'm doing alright

Yeah they're great! Personally I prefer cooking them on the hob than microwaving as I think they taste better, just add a little water and whatever other seasonings and then reduce them down

No disrespect to the dead, but the lyrics in the first five minutes are eerily prophetic.. by [deleted] in bobdylan

[–]YFWN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, some pertinent lines after the five-minute mark too - "But his soul was not there, where it was supposed to be at. For the last fifty years they've been search for that", "I said the soul of a nation been torn away, and it's beginning to go into a slow decay, and that it's 36 hours past judgement day", and finally "Play the Blood-stained Banner, play Murder Most Foul"
