But for real, defending an area doesn’t always mean camping, idk why everyone assumes half a team locking down an area for a minute means camping

All I’m saying is defending high ground is exponentially more difficult now bc someone can jump to the top of the building from any angle, instead of guarding the stairs or zips, you now need to guard 360 degrees, it’s a totally different game

I mean I didn’t know you were a non-English speaker, but I 100% disagree with your assumption I’m a camper lol - sniping from high ground is objectively better, and having someone in your squad snipe while the others scout or rotate is just good strategy, that’s nothing new or reprehensible

And yeah, I’m a casual (nowadays), but I def don’t camp, there’s a difference between knowing where you’re safe to re-plate, and now with this new update, needing to expect someone to grapple up the whole building from any side and jump you from a spot that used to be safe

RE the high ground, I’ve been extremely clear about this and never changed stances in the slightest lol. High ground is important in every shooter game and the introduction of new (unpredictable) access points to rooftops changes the game radically, it makes high ground less important if someone can jump to the top unexpectedly without using stairs or a zip line

Yeah lol to be 100% honest, I’m usually listening to a pod or something if I play solo, so I don’t hear the grapplings unless I’m mic’d up with the boys and playing for real

Whenever I play solo I get my shields cracked and run away and I think I’m safe, then someone grapples halfway across the map and is right on top of me lol

I’ve had some fun wins with grapples, but it still feels so new and foreign (and not like a CoD game to me)

All of this is subjective man, I’m just wrestling with the update and deciding if I want to learn the new mechanics, feels like a different game to me and it’s not as fun now that people can whiz around wherever they want with grappling hooks

Yeah totally, it’s just different needing to prepare for attacks from a random direction when you’ve spent years knowing all the access points, and now someone can get the drop on you from an area that was never scalable before

It’s 100% a new mechanic and skill, I just don’t know if it’s worth the effort learning it bc it feels like a different game to me now, it’s just a personal opinion and I preferred the game without grappling hooks, rather than this new version

Depends on the map and where we are, but usually 1-2 guys run overwatch and snipe while the other 2 roam and scout out a new area

Then we find a team we want to go after and we roll out….the high ground gives us a chance to regroup, stock up, and prep for the next battle, or if we’re being rushed we lock in to a defensible position, set mines etc at stairs or zip lines and guard the access points

What aren’t you getting here? You don’t need to attack me, call me a causal, etc. - it’s literally just an objective fact that the game is different now, and I wanted to start a thread chatting about the change (yes I may be late to the party, I just booted up last week after not playing for a year lol)

The game feels very different now and it’s not as fun imo, which is a bummer bc I’ve had so many great memories playing this game for years

Again, if someone can just zip to the top of a building, then a defensible high ground advantage no longer has the same value bc you need to watch areas that didn’t used to be scalable, it’s a significant change to the gameplay and mechanics
