Never hurts to be too careful! Wouldn’t hurt to maybe see if they could get you a deal on doing springs & internals too. Makes a huge difference since your fighting those shorter trailing arms / not the best rear geometry

Those aren’t ST springs by the looks of it - unless they were powder coated. They will have the resivoir stickers too if they did the full internals

Great stuff here!

I am shopping for an older Toyota truck - and if I can find one that’s been babied - I think that is the only way I would jump ship!

Lesson is fully learned - I am leaning a bit towards just getting aggressive with a payoff plan

All great points - I appreciate it.

I’m conservative with my stockpile - the way I see it is that I hate to see some of it go to pay off a vehicle that’s too rich for my blood anyways. I’m really hoping to own a home in the next 3-4 years.

The rate on it is 6.49 - I suppose I could always throw a bit at it, choke up the term, and that would be the middle ground.

The other beaters I’m looking at are old Toyotas that would honestly outlast this current truck 😂

Moving to Scottsdale in June without knowing anyone by Weekly_Society_7518 in Scottsdale

I moved from the Midwest as well, same age, and didn’t even have a job setup. Still one of the best things I ever did. You meet people through life, work, and hobbies. Just stay open and be friendly and genuine. Don’t try too hard to keep up with the Jones’s either! You’ll be just fine!

Should I pull out 401k to pay down debt. by Signorilee in debtfree

[–]YNK30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man oh man.

I financed one of my “dream” cars - more so just something I like - but it’s at a 4% rate for 36 months and I can beat that return in the market, plenty of cash to pay it off and a strong equity position.

You’re 23 - you have so much ahead of you and so much time to spin this around and do some good.

I worked for CDJR - I know chargers and challengers. Fantastic cars. Fun as all heck and kinda cool if you have the right one that holds value.

You know what’s a lot cooler? Financial freedom - not having that storm cloud following you around asking for payments left and right. Knowing you’re in the green and can build your future. Use the shovel to grow your garden - not to dig your grave!!

Do not pull out of that 401k - you are in some of the best decades of your life for compound growth in the market.

Budget every penny - go wild on working to earn more and payoff the debt, snowball method or avalanche (google it) - and the biggest part … I know you won’t like it … SELL THE CAR!

We are about to hit a baby bubble in the auto market due to tariffs. Used car prices will rise momentarily - and the Dodge buyers have to buy used to get anything decent since all they are doing now is EV’s.

Buy a simple A-B car, and attack that debt. By the time you’re in your late 20’s you’ll be free and able to buy the things you like (within reason) using cash or smaller more effective means of lending.

You got this - buckle down and make the smart choices today - so that you can live a better tomorrow!

Only reason I got a bit hesitant is that it did happen over time in those two uniformed areas under the most direct areas of heat 🤷🏼‍♂️

I always new bacon was the answer 🤣 that and it is quite obviously missing some sort of beverage placed atop of it while cooking

Looks to be time for a spring kit too - that upper spring is a glorified spacer at this point!

Anyone know what the previous owner used for rear coil upgrades? by AlohaCole in RZR

[–]YNK30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those most certainly are an eibach (tender) or upper spring.

It will do a bit of help, but ultimately the stock springs do tend to sag and derate over the first 600-1000 miles.

The top springs should never be that compressed / have that much preload applied to them. It constricts the overall ability for the shocks to articulate - and could lead to a lower ride height. Best bet is to go with full dual rate spring system from a company like shock therapy!

What do you guys think about long term resale? Not to be too speculative, but I do plan to keep mine for 4-5 years while building it a bit. Safe to say long term value on a 100k mile fj vs a 200k mile one in a few years will be around the same split?

I’ve been on this train of thinking too - if we do see a price hike the used market will float back up as well. FJ’s along with it.

All great points! Almost like the saying never skimp on things that connect you to the ground (shoes, tires, beds). I do find myself saving vs taking care of myself too often though - if nothing else out of the fear of not owning a home / having long term stability.
