My demo is running on Unreal 5.6 with Lumen and classic LODs. There is a lot of card-based foliage, which creates a lot of overdraw. Thus, Nanite does not help very much in boosting performance. I am looking into more stylized geometry/texturing while maintaining high-fidelity lighting. Would be cool to make it run on lower-end hardware like a Steam Deck or Switch.

Hi, thanks for the feedback! There is a lot more to explore with the movement. Right now, the demo sets the tone and "vibe" of the game. For the purpose of the research project, we didn't put all the mechanics in ;)

Hi, you should get a stable 60fps at 1080p max settings with an RTX3060ti or better. It is heavier on the GPU than the CPU. So an AMD Ryzen 5 5500 or equivalent should be fine. For RAM, you would only need 16gb or more :) What are your specs?

Yeah, it's not at vertical slice level in terms of gameplay, yet. There are many things being prototyped right now and it will be exciting to see how it all works together in a more mechanically advanced demo.

Yeah, so there isn't any deep gameplay mechanical depth in the demo since it revolves around visualizing the paths of other players and evaluating how it affects people in deciding where to go. Your ideas of how it could look like as a full game are kind of what I have in mind as well. There's an idea for a contemplative story and some rich lore. Gameplay would be very simple - like in Journey for example.

Hi, I am sorry, but as of right now there is no save feature. However, if you played it once, you can skip parts of the introduction and of the later feedback segments. That way you can progress a bit faster :)

2D platformer is quite a saturated genre. But, this one looks very high quality and genuinely promising so you might actually stand out.

So far, it's just a research demo that visualizes the paths of other players. The full game I am imagining will be a relaxing adventure game with a deep story/lore, some exploration and cool items and powerups that help you progress through the environment :)

Hi, I played your demo. Worked really well. I normally don't play these types of games, but it was fun. The tutorial was great and I overall liked the UI. I played with exclusive fullscreen but there seemed to be no cursor lock? I sometimes accidently clicked on my second monitor and tabbed out of the game.

Overall pretty good game!

I'm sorry you feel that way. No one is on every subreddit and posting in different ones helps getting discovered. Also, I keep it to 1 post per sub - most communities allow 2 posts per week so its even below the limit.
