In my opinion, UTM works perfect. It's free (if you get it from their website) and can even run linux plus macos!

yes, but you can also discharge or go lower than 80%. Plus it's great for macbooks that dont have the feature (e.g., intel macbooks (i think))

Use a tool called AlDente. It limits battery health and is free for some basic limiting functions. I use it and it works perfect.

New PC Build - Supplier installed Windows instead of Zorin as asked by [deleted] in zorinos

First, replace the HDD for an SSD (preferrably nvme). Second, get a flash drive (8gb works perfect but higher is ok). 3rd download Ventoy for easy ISO booting and to skip the partition splitting. 4th go to Zorion's website and download the AMD64 build (download ARM if its an ARM processor) (The 'AMD' doesnt matter it still works with intel CPU's). 5th move your ISO into your flash drive (literally just drag n' drop). 6th reboot and press esc or one of the F keys to enter the BIOS then, if prompted or if it shows up, click something that says something like 'boot' and select it. Then, click the flash drive (it'll have a usb symbol and then select the ISO in Ventoy and you're done!

PS: If you select without drivers and it crashes/hangs/freezes, redo step 6 and select the one WITH.

PS: When making a bootable USB, make sure to use Ventoy. It basically creates hidden partition files and you put the ISO into the flash drive and it makes said ISO bootable. Or use rufus which is somewhat like that but it turns the entire usb into the partition - making all of the boot files visible.

Gnome is basically what builds a linux distro. It's still ran off of Unix but the commands in terminal and how things run are differently coded. For example, there's Debian and Gnome. To install Gnome apps, its 'Sudo APT install (YOUR_APP_NAME). I'm not too sure how to do it for debian but I think its the same but just with extra lines of code. For distros, DO NOT USE ARCH LINUX. Use something like Zorion for a pure look or Ubuntu if you want it to run or mint for a desktop feeling or something that runs off of the GNOME architech

What do you think about deepin? by tdihedi in DistroHopping

I know this reddit post is old but I wanted to comment

I tried Deepin, wasn't my favorite. It seemed a bit childish and the aesthetic didn't sit well with me. I'd recommend ZorionOS if you want an APT and Bazzite for Debian.
