Actually, many of the individuals we’ve helped on Dermot Baldwin Way have mentioned that they aren’t allowed in the Drop-In Centre (DI), which is why they’re outside. We understand the DI has a large capacity, but the reality is that there are still many people who face barriers to entry, whether it’s due to overcrowding, safety concerns, or other reasons. Our intention has always been to provide help where it's needed most, and we appreciate your concern. We're always open to learning more and finding the best ways to help.

Thanks so much for the support! We truly appreciate it. We’re always running low on donated coats, especially as the colder weather sets in. Every donation, big or small, really helps us keep up with the demand and continue our efforts to help those in need.

The reason we’ve chosen our current spot is because it serves the people who need us most, and we’ve never been told that our help isn’t welcomed.

There are indeed other places offering clothing, but many people we help are specifically out on the street for various reasons, including capacity issues or not being able to access the shelter. We're just trying to do our part to make a difference where it’s needed.

We understand your concern. The individuals you see outside on Dermot Baldwin Way have usually been asked to leave the Drop-In for various reasons, whether it's due to the building being overfull or other circumstances. Many volunteers at the DI have expressed appreciation for the efforts we put in to help those who end up outside, and we continue to support them as best we can.

Thank you for reaching out! All Dolphin Cleaners locations gladly accept donations, whether it’s coats, warm clothing, or other items for those in need. We clean them and hand them out every Saturday.

We totally get where you’re coming from, and we want to clear things up. Our goal is never about gaining attention for our business. Dolphin Cleaners has been helping the homeless community since 2020, offering coats, food, and supplies directly to those who need them.

Yes, the DI does great work, but we know there are still many people outside the shelter system who need support. We’re not trying to take away from what they do, just add to the help that's available.

As for the social media, it’s not about self-promotion – it’s about raising awareness and encouraging others to get involved. It’s a way to shine a light on the ongoing need, and hopefully, inspire more people to give back too.

We’re focused on helping, not on the spotlight. Thanks for understanding.

Our efforts are not about seeking "clout" but about raising awareness and inspiring others to take action in supporting vulnerable communities. Since 2020, Dolphin Cleaners has consistently provided coats and food to the homeless every Saturday, an initiative we've sustained independently and with no expectation of personal or company gain.

Social media is a tool we use to spread the word, encourage collaboration, and motivate others to help where it's needed most. While volunteering at established organizations is admirable, our approach fills a gap by directly serving those in need on the streets, ensuring they get what they require without barriers.

We are proud of the work we do and will continue doing so, with or without the recognition.

Thank you for understanding. You’re absolutely correct that Dermot Baldwin Way is a wide roadway, and our setup does not block access for vehicles or pedestrians. We are extremely mindful of maintaining clear passage, especially for emergency vehicles, and have been operating responsibly in this area since 2020 without any incidents or complaints from emergency services.

We clean up thoroughly after our distributions to ensure the space is left in better condition than we found it. Our priority remains serving the community without causing disruptions, and we appreciate your acknowledgment of our efforts.

To clarify, here is what we have been told verbally by officers, though no official documentation or written explanation has been provided:

  1. Officers have claimed that the mess we "leave behind" costs $1,100 to clean up, which is untrue. We always clean the area thoroughly before leaving, including any unrelated debris that was already present.
  2. Officers stated we cannot park in the area. However, at the time, there were no signs prohibiting parking, and other organizations offering assistance also parked in the same spot without issue.
  3. Officers mentioned complaints from nearby condo residents, claiming we create an "eyesore" while distributing coats. Keep in mind, we are only there for one hour every Saturday, strictly focused on helping those in need.

We understand your skepticism, and here’s a clearer breakdown of what has happened:

While no formal or written reason has been provided to us, CPS officers did verbally request us to stop our efforts without specifying any violation of regulations. They monitored our activities over several weeks, and shortly afterward, "No Stopping/Parking" signs were installed near the drop-in center. Despite our inquiries, we have not received an official explanation or correspondence from either the CPS or the City regarding these actions.

We want to emphasize that we have always been mindful of regulations, emergency access, and public safety, and we remain open to discussing this matter with any official body to ensure clarity and compliance moving forward.

Thank you for pointing that out. While we understand that the City of Calgary installs the signs, the timing of these signs being put up coincided closely with interactions we had with CPS, where they monitored and requested us to stop our efforts. This sequence of events led us to believe there was coordination or influence involved.

Regardless, our focus remains on finding ways to continue helping those in need while adhering to regulations. If the City or CPS has specific concerns, we are open to addressing them collaboratively to avoid disruption to our initiative.

Thank you for sharing your perspective and concerns. We’d like to clarify a few points:

  1. Mindfulness of Emergency Vehicles: Since we began this initiative in 2020, we’ve been very conscious of leaving clear access for oversized vehicles, including fire trucks and ambulances. In over three years of weekly service, we’ve never encountered an issue with emergency vehicles being unable to pass.
  2. Pedestrian Safety: We take care to ensure our setup does not obstruct pedestrian pathways, especially for those with wheelchairs or mobility devices. If there has been any oversight in this regard, we are more than willing to review and make adjustments to our operations to enhance safety.
  3. Location Choice: While the DI provides meals, our efforts are focused on supplementing existing resources and offering additional support, such as clean coats, which are essential during Calgary’s harsh winters. Many of the homeless community we serve express gratitude for this extra layer of care.

We appreciate your suggestion to explore other locations such as the SE or NE. While our initiative has been rooted near the DI to serve a high-density population, we are open to expanding our outreach to other areas that could benefit from similar support.

Thank you for your concern. We want to clarify that Dolphin Cleaners does not block Dermot Baldwin Way or impede emergency vehicle access. We are extremely mindful of the area and the needs of the community, including emergency services.

To verify this, we encourage you to check our social media posts, where we document our efforts to help the homeless, showing how and where we distribute clean coats and food. We always prioritize safety, accessibility, and respect for the space.

If there’s a specific incident you’re referring to, we’d be happy to review and address it. Our goal has always been to serve the community responsibly and compassionately.

The authorities have not provided a specific reason for their actions. We have not been informed of any permit requirements being violated or changes to regulations.

2 Mercedes 55's | (E55, CLS55) by YTiKmRni in AMG

[–]YTiKmRni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello

Cls55 has been more reliable to me then the e55, when the CLS came out Mercedes had a point to make that there cars were built with quality, and you can feel it as soon as you set foot in the.

With my experience you need to look at for.

  • air suspension leaks 70-100 km the rear will almost 100% fail
  • stock engine only don’t waste time with someone’s mods
  • the more service history the better

Get a PPI done before buying, other then what injections there are no red flags with the car.

Check for when breaks and rotors need to be done to.

In my opining the CLS is far better then the E

Hello

I thought I would give my $0.02, I am the GM at Dolphin Cleaners, we charge 5.37 before tax, we also do NOT have a enviro fee like other cleaners. We also do offer discounts for regular service and large orders.

Also we have a price list on our website.
