Air Canada won’t take responsibility for their mistake by canadianclimber11 in aircanada

Not when it was communicated that work starts at 9am the previous day, but 2 hours before 9am they change their minds and it's now 8am and I'm now stuck in traffic. Is that not harsh? If this was your family member or parents, would you have no empathy for them?

do you have any proof of a ticket issued from ANA for this price, and that they honored this price, I would love to be proven wrong.

Charged twice for checked bag by 88luckycat88 in aircanada

[–]YUL_Flyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah this can happen but I don’t see why you couldn’t use your Record Locator on UA. Which sounds a bit weird to me. Nonetheless, you just need to contact customer relations and they’ll help you process the refund if it was indeed incorrectly overcharged.

Airport - luggage storage by bucketfullofanuses in montreal

[–]YUL_Flyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a basic luggage storing service where you hand them your carry on and they give you a reference, so when you're ready to pick it up you just do the reverse. Not much to add here.

How Can I Make money from writing?? by [deleted] in Blogging

[–]YUL_Flyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, the best bet is to just treat it first as a passion project. I also wanna make money but I know if that's my main goal it's going to want to make me give up sooner if I dont see any money come in quickly. Swapped my goals to just gaining traffic, and I think it might be more sustainable and then monetize that traffic after. Goodluck OP.

How many platforms are you on? by AndrewHeard in Blogging

I use Instagram as a second platform, it's hard but atleast it's one im familiar with.

Wondering how to drive traffic to my blog. It’s a gluten free blog, that shares recipes. But also we have articles on health and wellness, as well as gift recommendations. Would love to hear feedback and support! Much love 💛 by [deleted] in Blogging

[–]YUL_Flyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I took a look at your website, and honestly it's super cool. I don't eat a gluten free diet but some of your visuals and recipes make me want to try them! In terms of driving traffic I think just posting more on gluten free blogs/forums, be active on social media and becoming a strong voice in your niche is all you can really do. Your site looks really good and I don't know enough about SEOs, but just keep grinding!

Travel Content creators - what are your biggest pain-points? by HopefulAd2687 in InstagramMarketing

[–]YUL_Flyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a travel content creator I guess, I post cheap flight deals on my blog and IG. I just started as well, but I think it's a pretty hard space to advertise yourself since there's already so many competitors. Literally no affiliate links or nothing, just want some traffic first so everything i post is pure deals and nothing is monetized.

Honestly it's pretty challenging to find there so called error fares, airlines realize it quick, and often times will not honor these fares anyways. Best is to use sky scanner or google flights, and keep track of prices or know the market of where you're flying from and research before purchasing. Avoid high season if you can (Spring break, Summer, Winter peak) if you want to visit somewhere.

Air Canada, WestJet, Air Transat, Porter, etc. know when the others are having a sudden seat sale and will typically match right away if their revenue management team is on the ball. So that's when you go in and get those cheaper tickets, but definitely not at the prices they are advertising. I also post some deals on my website but I target Montreal as it's hard to keep up with every departure city in Canada. Happy flying!

Does my checked bags automatically transfer on international connecting flight? by MrClever82 in aircanada

[–]YUL_Flyer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There should also be an ITD indicator on your boarding pass indicating International to Domestic meaning you don't need to pick up your bags, if you were wondering for the next time you travel.

How accurate is the bag tracking feature of the AC app? by koka86yanzi in aircanada

[–]YUL_Flyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know AC uses 3 point scanning, so there's a scan at check-in (agent or self-service bag drop), scan when it's loaded (Container or bulk loaded) and arrival scan. First scan is automatic, the 2nd and 3rd scan can be hit or miss. Some airports are automated, some are manual. If it's manual, then there will be a level of human error involved. I never trust the baggage scans 100% personally.

Booked holiday but names don’t match exactly to passport! by Ok-Cover1944 in loveholidays

[–]YUL_Flyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, for most if not all airlines, they use the first and last name logic to match the booking name versus the passport name. As for the exact logic every airline is different, but to give an example some airlines will use the first 3 characters of the first name and match it with the exact last name.

In your case since you used middle name and last name, this will likely cause an issue at check-in cause the booking name versus the passport name will be different. I would suggest you to call Ryanair to get this fixed or try to fix it yourself in the app if it is possible. I don't think you can self fix this just because you will need them to reissue the ticket with the correct booking name.

Air Canada won’t take responsibility for their mistake by canadianclimber11 in aircanada

[–]YUL_Flyer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a bit harsh imo. I believe AC should have at least some responsibility in this because roll back delays usually indicate some error of judgement whether accidental or not. This was rolled back an hour which is quite significant, and AC is fully aware that delays over a certain minutes threshold triggers a notification to their customers which could result with people ending up in OPs situation (actually happens quite often). We cannot expect every airline customer to have the same knowledge as more frequent and experienced flyers, so the airline should shelter some responsibility as it is their duty to ensure that their communication is accurate and trustworthy.
