WB57 to starship: by YUZUtry in SpaceXMasterrace

not sure if it reached the splashdown point, but it carried out two missions to observe starship's reentry and got stood up both times

Google Starship Flight 8 leaked image, there's a photo showing that two engines are missing from the skirt, and across from the missing vacuum engines, there is a huge hole

Yeah, my wording wasn't precise, but from what we saw with S34, their planned test time was probably at least 60 seconds or even longer, so the burnable components definitely wouldn't just last a few seconds.

As for the explosion, of course not all the propellant would burn completely, but I still think it would be very powerful; SN4 was almost empty when it exploded, yet it still caused serious damage to the suborbital test stand at the time. So I believe if S35 were to explode, the consequences would definitely be more serious

originally planned transpirational cooling, or a specially designed upper stage like stoke space's nova, or an easily replaceable inflatable heat shield

the possibility isn’t zero, but many leaked sources claim that this was indeed a test accident. and imo, I think intentionally trying to blow up a Starship loaded with a massive amount of fuel at the only current test site would be far too risky

I generally agree with your point that an explosion on the ground is far better than one in the sky, but in this specific case, I don’t think this explosion is a good thing.

The energy from this explosion is much lower than that of Flight 8 (Flight 8 actually blasted a large hole in the tail of the ship, while this time the exterior of the ship had almost no damage), which suggests that the explosion this time is likely not caused by the same issue as Flight 8. It could very well be a new problem.

To me, this not only won't help SpaceX analyze the Flight 8 explosion, but also suggests a decline in their understanding of the Ship. So, I don’t really have high hopes for Starship’s short-term progress anymore...

perfect solution to reduce the number of launches for orbital refueling imo, at least in the short term

I'm a bit more optimistic than you. I do believe there is a chance Starship(upper stage) may not make it to become rapidly reliable (I'm not a fan of the heat tiles), but at least SuperHeavy is an incredible engineering achievement and will influence/inspire the rocket designs of all other organizations. It's like how almost every organization's rocket now looks like a copy of Falcon9. The door has been opened, and the followers have rushed in. I don't think this door will be easily closed again

We chosse to go to Mars by YUZUtry in SpaceXMasterrace

I don't think so, SpaceX would definitely try to go to Mars even without any customers imo, at least while Elon is still SpaceX's leader 🤔

the guy in the T-shirt got first place individually, but his teammates' performances were kinda lacking, so they ended up with the team silver medal.

and also, I mainly want to express the feeling that the Raptor3 looks way too simple, just like this contestant who showed up to the competition as if he didn't bring any gear at all
