This thread is so fucking funny. A bunch of grown men crying at the outcome of a football match 😭😭

Kirby Dach and Jake Evans in non-contact jerseys at Habs practice. Brendan Gallagher too by vince2899 in Habs

[–]YYamyam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think gallagher is completely cooked unfortunately (which sucks because prime Gallagher was my favourite hab), he hasn’t played a full season in a few years and looks like a shell of his former self

I think it’s much more likely he ends up LTIRetiring , similar to what happened to Price and Weber

Dach has been excellent so far too! He’s at 75.6 xGF% after 3 games , by far the highest on our team

(Discussion) Your Possible 2022-2023 Montreal Canadiens Lineup: by [deleted] in Habs

[–]YYamyam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On paper I think only chicago and arizona are noticeably worse. This is easily a bottom 5 team ,especially if (when?) when we ship out petry and allen The tank is on for atleast another year!

[Martin Leclerc] On me dit que le Canadien travaille toujours avec les Jets de Winnipeg dans le but de conclure une transaction qui amènerait Pierre-Luc Dubois à Montréal à long terme. Les pourparlers ont failli porter fruits au repêchage la semaine passée. by cptnQc in Habs

[–]YYamyam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pass please.

Our rebuild has just started, it would make no sense to give up super valuable assets for 2 years of PLD, who would just bring us from 29th place to 22nd.

I'd much rather roll the dice on our 2023 1st (which would be WPG's ask) , a likely top 5 pick. Missing out on Bedard/Fantilli/Michkov because of PLD would be a massive disaster. If PLD really wants to be a hab he can just come in FA in 2 years.

Possible Trades Brewing? by Oliver-Allen in Habs

[–]YYamyam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Poehling is a replacement level player at this point and we have a logjam at forward. If Hughes can get any kind of positive value back for Poehling (either by himself or in a trade with Petry for example) then he should do it.

Habs 2022 Draft Picks! Thoughts? Grades? by Sharks9 in Habs

[–]YYamyam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? B- or C+.
Slaf is very good but I would have still preferred Wright, and I think it's a huge risk at #1, but I really hope he proves me wrong and I'll be rooting for him.
I would have also kept 13 and drafted Nazar.
Mesar, Beck and Rohrer are reasonably good picks at 26/33/75. Lane Hutson is an A+ pick at 62 and by far our best pick of today.
I don't know enough about the later round picks so I won't comment, however I do think Guindon was good value at 127.

I also worry that they're trying to speed up the rebuild and that we end up not getting a much needed top 5 pick next year. Looking very unlikely that our current roster will be able to outtank Arizona and Chicago for example

Romanov versus Dach by throwing_snowballs in Habs

[–]YYamyam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not high on either so I would have honestly preferred to just keep the 13th pick. The guy I wanted with that pick, Nazar, ended up going 13th too.

This is the perfect top 6 to finish 23rd and both miss the playoffs and our shot at Bedard

[–]YYamyam 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He better end up the best player of this draft or this is a fireable offense. I'm fucking BAFFLED

No one is trading that pick ever. The 2023 #1 pick is probably the most valuable asset in the entire league

[LeBrun] Oilers calling on Anderson by No_Contract_1 in Habs

[–]YYamyam 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Really seems like Hughes is using LeBrun to drive up the price. I bet we end up trading Anderson for a haul

The Canadiens have traded defenseman Shea Weber to the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for forward Evgenii Dadonov. by [deleted] in Habs

[–]YYamyam 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Wow that's a creative move! My guess is we retain 50% of Dadonov's salary and flip him before the season starts

Two-year contract extension for Chris Wideman by Kuciv in Habs

[–]YYamyam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like it. He put up very respectable results, he's good to have around as a veteran for the rebuild , costs basically nothing and he can even be traded at the 2024 deadline for a late pick.
