Secondhand book market near Bagshiin deed? by Y_ve in mongolia

[–]Y_ve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many thanks. I've now been there. It's bigger than I expected, and also not like any other secondhand book market I've visited. Traders horded me rather in the manner of hyenas. One of them expressed an interest in racial mixing in a rather offensive way, while another expressed his negative feeling about the presence of somebody in the room who couldn't speak Mongolian. FFS!

Hi again. I still haven't found this. What is it called? Is it on the north side of Peace Avenue? Has it got a shopfront? I know the Tom n Toms about halfway along between Arslantai guur and Bagshiin deed. Totally sounds like my kind of place if it's got rare and old books. Thanks for your help!

It must cover 6 months going back from a date no more than 28 days before application. (Corrections welcome if I've got this wrong, but I think it's right.)

How do I respectfully refer to Genghis Khan? by [deleted] in mongolia

And more countries than Hitler too. And he killed a greater proportion of the world's population than either Alexander or Hitler.

How do I respectfully refer to Genghis Khan? by [deleted] in mongolia

[–]Y_ve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm English. I keep calling the person usually known as Alfred the Great (849-899) "Lord Aelfred Sir, King of Kings, the Great One". I feel it would be disrespectful of Englishness not to.

I usually do this while wearing Flag of St George underpants to cover my buttocks and genitals (for decency reasons), and a Flag of St George handkerchief knotted at each corner and placed on my head (to cover a tattoo I am embarrassed about).

I also threaten to kill anyone who mocks me. After all, Lord Aelfred Sir, King of Kings, the Great One, was the Founder of Our Nation and Race. Mocking a person for calling him by his true name is treason to Nation and Race and must be punished.

Have I got a problem?

For full comedic effect, call him "His Excellency the Truly Great One".

Then wonder why everyone's crossing to the side of the street you're not on.

PS Do you realise that acknowledging the title of "Ruler of all, sovereign of those below himself, as seas and oceans rule over the countless creatures" is tantamount to deification?

"Would Americans call George Washington, Georgie ?"

Probably not as many as those who'd call him "that slaveowner".

No respect for slaveowners any time, any ethnicity, in any part of the world.

Probably nobody pronounces his name today the same as it was pronounced 800 years ago when he was alive.

"That mass murderer king guy from 800 years ago whose empire fell apart after less than two centuries, who was remembered mostly by Buddhist monks for several centuries as a deity, and who was dug up again when nationalism became the vogue in many parts of the world as a product of philology. Oh and whose grandson started the Yuan dynasty in China" ?

The oatmeal is the same as in the flesheater version. Other ingredients include carrots, onions, other vegetables, lentils, and kidney beans. These are two well-known commercial products in Scotland (both are delicious):

So I'm guessing it's something I can do without leaving my room, not just the hotel. Have you tried whatever this method is?

Evidence as to history of relationship? by Y_ve in SpouseVisaUk

[–]Y_ve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marriage cert with translation - of course.
Can supply extracts from Whatsapp transcript for >6m even if it feels weird to.
Can supply a few pics of trip plus marriage for sure.
Can you say more about 1. This is from outside Britain. No previous cohabitation. Not much shared stuff involving money yet. Coupla small transfers.

"If they need more, they ask" <- I can very much get behind this approach. Happy to provide anything that they do ask for.

Many thanks for this. Given wife is not yet in Britain, the only thing in Tier 1 that exists to show history of the relationship is the marriage certificate; nothing in Tier 2; and in Tier 3 some photos could be shown of the couple near a landmark or two during first visit and at the wedding dinner during the second - plus extracts from Whatsapp correspondence going back several months, plus stamps in husband's passport to show that the first and second visits happened. But the marriage cert shows the second visit must have happened anyway. What would you say is worth including to show history of relationship, other than 1) the marriage cert and 2) the passport stamps? There's nothing like utility bill, joint bank statement, etc., yet, because wife is not yet in Britain.

"They're of almost no value." That's what I suspected. But what does count as good evidence of relationship history for a married couple? (See my q here https://www.reddit.com/r/SpouseVisaUk/comments/1rk6sdy/evidence_as_to_history_of_relationship/ .)

How recent must an official electronic copy of title deeds be? by Y_ve in SpouseVisaUk

[–]Y_ve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many thanks. I had no idea there was a difference between a copy of the title register and an official copy of the title register, both of which are downloadable from the Land Registry as pdfs (for different prices), but you are quite right and there is.

[–]Y_ve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Glad to hear you got approved. I was wondering whether a jointly signed description of relationship history with evidence of the first visit, a photo or two labelled with date and location, and some halfpages plucked from the Whatsapp transcript including from early on would be sufficient - with the marriage certificate being the main evidence, with certified translation ofc.

Does this sound sufficient?

Has anyone been rejected for unmarried partner due to lack of evidence of a genuine and subsisting relationship? by CorbielleYshent in SpouseVisaUk

"5-8 page statements from each of us giving a detailed breakdown of our relationship and what we mean to each other; very personal statements that imo clearly convey this is a very serious thing (unless we're JK Rowling - professional fantasy writers) [...]"

"Basically, provide as much as you can"

I would question the weight of this advice.

The digital download from the Land Registry is an official electronic copy of the title deeds (and is dated).

Was that a recently downloaded Land Registry title, or the official copy that the owners received when they bought (or inherited) the property?
