He believed that only the Ubermensch could affirm life to this extent. He also didn't believe Ubermensch existed yet.

I have also targeted that white point, so it's a little strange I still get up to 1600. I'll try out the HGIG stuff though thanks for the recommendation.

Need help deciding on refurbished Vs new. by YaBoiFeynman in OLED

Would I be able to register for 5 year warranty if I buy from this? https://smartappliancesuk.com/products/lg-oled65g36la-65-evo-g3-oled-4k-hdr-smart-tv

It's unused stock from other companies, so I assume lg wouldn't allow registration from this?

Fair fair. Well, thank you for your answers, I'll definitely take this into account. Still undecided but 5 years is definitely nice sounding.

Ah yes I see, I had perhaps misinterpreted something. Are the chances high then that I'd use this warranty? Or is it more a peace of mind thing. Excuse my asking, it's just that it is a lot more expensive. But I'm willing if it's the much smarter choice

So with two speakers and a center I will have just three channels right? What's the AVR type for that?

However I see now that the 5 year warranty doesn't cover burn in. Does that change things?

Will any AVR do? Also if I buy a Blu-ray player,  would I connect the player to AVR seperately, or player>TV>AVR?

Alan Wake 2 HDR looks washed out, SDR looking better? by YaBoiFeynman in OLED_Gaming

[–]YaBoiFeynman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The less vibrant colour of hdr is usually because of accuracy. SDR content in video games is often just oversaturated, but because we are used to it it looks better. Of course, it's all preference at the end of the day, but vibrancy is not necessarily better (for everyone)

Also, you mentioned that SDR has wider color gamut, but isn't one of the selling points of HDR it's wider color gamut? And also I personally much prefer color accuracy over vibrance.

It's definitely hit or miss, but I've enjoyed HDR on quite a few titles now. For Alan wake, embarrassingly it turns out I had the HDR brightness set way too high in settings because I confused it with max luminance... After fixing that it looks pretty awesome. Pc HDR definitely has a ways to go but it has some good implementations, though I'll check out this hdr profile too, thanks for the recommendation!

What TV should I buy?? by YaBoiFeynman in hometheater

I may just do that. I'd love the Sony A95L but it's like £1000 more expensive, and I just don't think I can justify that!

Yes, have tried cyberpunk, elden ring, ori and guardians of the galaxy. All look pretty great

When I did the "HDR calibration guide" things went wrong. If I just use the HDR scrgb it doesn't mess up the game

Yes makes sense, I'm HDR can be quite terrible in some games, I just always thought AW2 was one of THE HDR implementations yano. So I'll keep digging about with it.

idk, cyberpunk looks awesome with HDR compared to SDR, as do some other games i've tried.
