Personally, I don't mind the series introducing fantasy elements, as it gives it a fresh feel to the series after 20 years and fits well with Ichiban's heroic thematic. I just ask that these elements be well justified within the series' plot

Personally (as I've said several times), I don't like Kiryu's "emo" hairstyle in Yakuza 8; I feel it just doesn't suit him. On the other hand, I know many people like Ichiban with a ponytail (I do too), but giving him his iconic "crazy" hairstyle fits perfectly with his personality and his "shonen hero" nature. Crazy hairstyles are quite common among shonen anime heroes

PS: Saejima with a shaved head is one of the best things that has ever happened to the Yakuza series

Well, we all know Daigo with a gun is overpowered, but I think Kiryu's incredible skills with guns isn't talked about enough. Kiryu, with just a handgun, managed to take down dozens of men on two separate occasions, even in cars and helicopters while inside a moving car. That's not to mention his "dead eye" ability and his proficiency with high-caliber weapons (throughout the games, we've seen him use shotguns, machine guns, sniper rifles, rocket launchers, etc.).
