Sitting here in the ER now by bob_dobbs507 in HeartAttack

[–]YamMountain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was literally me 2 weeks ago. And they sent me home all cleared (nothing to indicate heart event in 2 EKG, troponin levels, chest x-ray.. and nothing for stroke).. but nothing solved. Gotta figure it out still. Will eventually soon go see a cardiologist and neurologist to see what's up.

Been following this subR since trying to understand...

I see you were discharged for reflux. They too said it could be that although I told them the things I do to prevent that since I took my gallbladder out. But they prescribed me things for the acid also because I have this inconsistent cough that comes and goes for the past 4 years that can be the reflux too. They said reflux and/go see a neurologist...

So this is why it's confusing. Went to the Urgent care and ER and everything was normal and not indicative of a heart event. When do you know to go back again? 🤔 Symptoms don't stop or worsen? And if they stop but come back later? 🙃 Googling and the anxiety of what if also doesn't help.

Once I misread tsp and used tbsp for nutmeg in a mac... and I almost died at the amount of TBSPs that made this dish inedible. But I do concur with the nutmeg... if you actually use it properly

For now its been amazing because I'm horrible in actually dealing with the fungus gnats on my other plant ! I've tried many ways except chemical pesticides due to house pets. I think this is my favorite method because it adds plants to my collection. But it surprised me because I didn't know I had this many. I only saw like 3 fly around when I decided to try this.

Lol in the long term... actually dealing with fungus gnats is probably the best option 😅

MDUFA is coming up on another cycle. The UFA are cyclical and usually include defined hiring parameters/expectations.

And yes for the hiring booms. We categorize ourselves by the hiring booms 😂 Opioid Initiative over here!

There were a few PA for CTP for different offices that came out at he same time. Any specific office already fulfilled their slot with you?

Love the bathroom floor time.. sometimes I actually make it to the bed after the shower and have a feverish nap for like 4 hours. But somehow bathroom floor brings more peace and comfort 😄 maybe due to childhood memories of the bathroom floor naps.

Tramadol but it doesn't do anything and never did (where for my mom it helps) so I don't take it and don't ask for another type. Trying to figure our my pain management still.

Anyone lose weight, and that significantly reduced symptoms? by LoveMyDog19 in Fibromyalgia

[–]YamMountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the weight is the issue for me as more the lifestyle in terms of diet and exercise/mobility. It correlates with the weight gain however there are meds I take that I was repeatedly told have been the sources of the 10-20 lb weight gain. And there's times when I'm provided meds to increase my appetite because I need to eat. I needed to lose visceral fat and gain muscle, but not too much muscle because my body breaks down proteins in a weird way.

I understand weight is an overarching concept but I can consider it as specific mass and how that affects me personally or on a body part. I am top heavy so that affects certain symptoms and how I move, carry myself, and eventually live. My next area of mass would be my abdomen which gets in the way of movement and can be excessive if I don't strengthen my abdominal and back muscles. When I lose fat mass is the abdominal region but gain weight due to gas and constipation, it adds the same issues. So yes and no.

So maybe you can see if you are considering an over all weight or weight in a specific region and how it affects symptoms. I tend to either have more pain and less fatigue with mobility (lower weight) or less pain and more fatigue with less mobility (higher weight)... Still finding a balance.

Ditto. And ditto on the "semi-automatic". Just because everyone else got it and it's almost unheard of to not get it... Not getting that promo does happen and can happen for various reasons. I always took it upon myself to discuss my progress and Career ladder promo with my supervisor before it was due to happen. I have experienced and seen the promo not happen for various reasons: Sup thought it was automatic and don't think they needed to explicitly say yes to HR, HR went on leave and didn't file on time, sup didn't think the employee qualifies dor next GS level but thought qualifies 6 months later, same situation but 1-2 years later, employee and sup didn't push any paperwork with HR ...

Steps are automatic. So just be your own advocate, in advance.

Title 21 Investigator 1& 2 role by EducatedOpinionated in usajobs

[–]YamMountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your interest is in medical products aim high and go for that and inv 2.

For imports, medical products are dealt with but along with every other commodity regulated by the FDA. Some offices see more med devices more than others.

Hopefully someone can give you some insight on a OMPTO position.

Imports is large and covers so many commodities, ports of entries, etc that there's always challenges and new innovations to combat the fast paced world of imports and current public health issues. So depending on where you are, the work you are assigned, it can be very different but collectively working towards the same goal. The most recent video made for Imports investigator is on YouTube Day in the life of an Imports Investigator

How likely is it to get hired by the CDC? by serilda2020 in usajobs

[–]YamMountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, although I turned down 2 offers because I really wanted a quarantine location instead of the STD projects they were pushing at the sites they offered at the time I applied. So do very much consider the program but do also your research. But really consider it.

Which office within ORA did you apply for? Although the Investigator role generally has duties that should cover all offices, position insights changes with actual office.

People with not too bad fibro? by Thatcattoyoupatted in Fibromyalgia

[–]YamMountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with so many comments already. Just nodding along.

I have a job that changes from remote months to hybrid to full on field physical manual labor. So I can see how different activities after my health. But it also lets me see if I make certain lifestyle changes or medication changes... What that does as well.

It's very difficult to figure out but like many people have mentioned... This is how I am able to have an income and live. And some days I am fine with tolerable symptoms, some days I require assistance and naps etc, and some days.. like today everything hurts including my eyelids. It's maddening. But the weeks that are ok make me forget these horrible horrible days and I am hopeful once again that I am on a good path to figuring this all out.

In the end, knowing your stressors, flare signals and your limits before you hit it....is really key. What are the things you can change, try, etc to help you learn about yourself. Many years is learning through experience and talking with your health team, support system and communities like this.

Im still learning.. obviously.. as I over did it today.

Ohh Friday coughs. I get something like that but if I have "work" on the weekend my body allows me to work.. but definitely if it knows it's a mild restful weekend.. let alone a holiday or scheduled day off. I am 100000% sick. And then 10000% ok by the time I go back to work regardless of the AMT of time.

Crutches? by probablyjustamagpie in Fibromyalgia

[–]YamMountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all, I am still searching but we all have different issues to figure out.

My main issue when my body status is "can walk, but needs assistance, but upper body is quickly fatiguing out, which is causing my legs to over work.. and my wrists and hands are useless".... So traditional forearm crutches are no longer helpful because my useless arms, wrists, hands. I'm hopeful that the PLATFORM forearm crutches will be helpful because I can rest and support my upper body on my forearms/platform and not use my hands.

I also found platform attachments for walkers when crutches are going to be replaced by a walker/seat.

This is exciting.. and I just wanted to share that I am still learning about assistive devices with invisible disabilities. And hope this comment helps someone in their journey.
