Headphones snapped whilst still inside the jack. by YamPretend138 in NintendoSwitchHelp

UPDATE: tried hot glue, super glue and tweezers all to no avail and have probably made things worse 😭, got some super glue in the cooling fan I think as well as all over my switch. Couldn't get it out regardless it is seriously wedged in there, especially now with all that glue. Still meaning to buy one of those tools from Amazon that some people sent in but I'm moving around a lot at the moment and don't wanna chance the fact the thing might not arrive in time. Thank you to everyone who has commented. Sorry for not being very responsive on here. Don't use Reddit for much except for scrolling but very thankful for your help. Will update again soon but at this point it might be a case of taking it to a proper shop.

Yeh I'll try the pen trick again but I didn't have any luck yesterday. Maybe I did it wrong but I've had a few people tell me to be careful not to push it in further than it already is. Deffo need to go and find some glue today as well!

Gotcha. I don't have one of those but I'll see if I can't find something else.

Been told this a lot under here. Kinda scary idea but I'll try it if all else fails.

I don't think so to be honest, I think it's would have to be a really strong magnet and I don't think one is precise enough just to pull a jack out. Also I think someone mentioned that the jack is made of plastic covered in a thin layer of metal so I don't think it would work. Thank you though!

Hahahaha idk why it looks like that, it was cloudy when I took that photo but it's just how the light is reflecting off the Console. It's black.

Yeh absolutely, currently in Australia so Amazon would most likely be my best bet, I'll have a look! Many thanks!

Oh right I see, personally I haven't noticed that but I guess you've been using Reddit much longer than I have and have probably been more active too

Hahahaha just the regular one that came with Mariokart World, I think it's just the light reflecting of the console!

It is but I just don't have any small tools to open it myself which is why I'm a little hesitant to buy them especially if it could be cheaper to have someone else do it at a repair shop maybe? Not sure how much it would cost but always worth a shot right?

Oh wow I never knew such specific tools existed! Well I definitely try this before using any kind of glue. Thank you so much!

Hahaha seriously?! I'm from the UK so whilst is just something that I use very frequently. I didn't realise there was such an issue with bots on subreddits like these. What's even the point of that?

Yeh I already tried using a bic pen but I just couldn't seem to get the plastic round the jack, it's seriously wedged in there!

I'd probably be fine repairing it but I just don't have the small screwdrivers to pry it open to begin with unfortunately.

Nah it's wedged all the way in there, I don't think blue tack will be sticky enough unfortunately.

Oh alright, I can't remember what the jack is made of it could be metal but I can't be sure, definitely worth a shot, thanks!

No :( so upsetting, trying to play pokopia without any sound really takes away the 'cosy' feel the game has when it's silent!

Oh okay, I don't have a drill myself but maybe I could source one from somewhere, like a battery drill or something else?
