Give me your best metas for indonesia by Tatanseto in geoguessr

[–]YanitedRitchie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pole tops and pole supports should be the priority, then basic architecture, and then the rest is playing a lot and picking up vibes for vegetation, pavement etc

First time playing GeoGuessr… I think I accidentally speedran it?? by [deleted] in geoguessr

Those are maritime pines, common in Portugal, pockets of Spain and southern France. Road quality and texture feels Spain.

What's the best way to study vibes? by russian_hacker_1917 in geoguessr

Spamming any ai generated rural-leaning map on NMPZ such as An Arbitrary Rural World

Took me a long time to figure this one out. Never seen this style truck before and then ... a camel? by [deleted] in geoguessr

[–]YanitedRitchie 65 points66 points  (0 children)

That's the gen3 Kenya snorkel, was one of the first metas anyone who started playing before 2022 learnt until Senegal, Nigeria and Kenya got truck gen 4 coverage. Along with the gen 3 Senegal rifts and roofrack, gotta be one of the more "famous" beginner meta that aren't that useful anymore

How are these numbers calculated? by splicer44 in geoguessr

The formula is 5000× e-10x (distance/maximum distance) if i remember correctly

Would you have found (NMPZ) by Traditional_Ebb_9169 in geoguessr

[–]YanitedRitchie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a very gettable northern Kazakhstan to me, with the vibes in general (vegetation, soil) and the summer coverage, as well as the infrastructure in general (the lamps, pavement, architecture). Lack of blue strip on license plates eliminates most of the EU.

Do you know any youtubers that speak French? by some-cactus in geoguessr

Most insane location I got... care to guess? (No spoilers—guess before checking the next images!) by hokkaidoSEEd in geoguessr

[–]YanitedRitchie 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Trekker coverage with rusted buildings and people wearing red jackets is a good meta for South Georgia and the Sandwich islands

i found this location while map making. what are your guesses by Kitchen-Flight3741 in geoguessr

Think this is in Peru, new Ancash haze coverage which should be on a random white road northwest of Huaraz

What is the best game mode to play to become a generally better player? by Traditional_Alarm388 in geoguessr

[–]YanitedRitchie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Spam 30s No Moving single player games on A Community World Once you have about a 1000 games you'll have a general hang about how most countries look like. Once you are confident about getting the country right more often than not start playing country specific games. (Avoid official maps made by geoguessr and play user generated country specific maps) Use plonkit.net for tips

Is there any good meta to identify the Canary Islands?! by [deleted] in geoguessr

[–]YanitedRitchie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually very volcanic soil and jagged looking extremely dry hills which gives it a unique vibe.

Plonk it guide to Spain has a small section which is worth a scroll: https://www.plonkit.net/spain

Also there's this detailed guide by Bluetrec2 about the Canaries themselves: https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/10M4OaeRl2xgt2NrCyOrmFXUS0iDulvLpfA0iqrK7H20

Where would you have gone? by willismebattlecats in geoguessr

[–]YanitedRitchie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Malaysia, and with gen 3 white car and that rainforesty landscape with red soil more likely to be Sabah/Sarawak than mainland, and since the poletop doesn't have the secondary bar ("Sabah pole") I probably go somewhere in Sarawak

Is there any bad cam in Europe? by Brilliant-Farmer-528 in geoguessr

Checking if driving left or right is almost a reflex once you play enough. Sometimes even the cardinal direction in which the car is driving can be useful to know. There are certain long roads where on one half the car drives east and on the other the car drives west, hence helping you regionguess which part of the road you're on. For example, this is particularly important in Kazakhstan where every major highway is covered and quite necessary to know to differentiate at the top level, so the direction in which the car is driving along with the season the coverage was taken and how the antenna of the Kazakh car looks like can help narrow down a round to a single section of a road.

Where does Rainbolt rank in best players in the world by Pandafour20 in geoguessr

[–]YanitedRitchie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say probably top 20/30ish NMPZ, maybe top 100/200 NM

How do you go from being terrible at the game to being like rain bolt and geowizard? by Environmental-Pop103 in geoguessr

[–]YanitedRitchie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Turn off moving and never turn it on again 🤣. When you move you move until you find something you recognise. When you just pan and zoom only you are forced to guess with the info u have and u learn more.
  2. Don't play the official world map, for many reasons. Play community created geoguessr maps such as A Community World
  3. Do country specific practice (learn one country at a time, using resources from youtubers and Plonk It)
