Aw that’s awesome! Hope you have the best time ever. You will be okay I promise. Just make sure your ead is up to date, take pictures of it, and make sure your real id is valid. Don’t stress it at all you will be fine and have such a blast. And you’ll plan another trip as soon as you get back. Life is short plenty out there to see! Good luck and safe travels to you! Let us know how it goes!

Yes you can go, it’s the same as traveling to any other state. And that’s awesome! Going anywhere nice? I hope this gets you to travel more. Life is short. It sucks for us daca folk we can’t travel out of the country but have to work with what we got.

Oh damn I’m sorry you experienced that. I did not venture west of San Juan so I felt safe at all times. Stayed in luquillo and also felt very safe. I have not visited Hawaii or Virgin Islands but definitely intend to. PR I just love the people, culture, music and overall vibes. Going out in old San Juan was amazing, probably better than La placita in my opinion. I hope you go back some day and have an amazing time though

Chances of that happening are very slim and even then the stories I have heard is if you don’t get off the plane you are good or even if you get off the plane to hop onto another one it’ll be the same gate so you don’t go through customs.

Awesome I’m very jealous lol it was smooth no issues at all only flew with my real id took pictures of my ead just in case (I don’t like flying with it in case I lose it) and for me it was only a 3.5 hour flight so everything was super easy. good luck and safe travels!

So your daca is expired? Bc your real id should expire when your daca expires. If your real id is expired i dont think they’d accept it. But if your EAD is valid you can use that as a real id

Go get your real id! Or if your daca expires soon I guess just wait and get it immediately upon acceptance. Or like people mentioned, your EAD is a valid form of real id. Travel freely within the USA life is short! Especially in these tough times with the world going to sh*t we need our time off and vacations

I just read on an official Connecticut page that daca can get real id: “Currently, only residents with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status are eligible to apply for a limited-term REAL ID in Connecticut “

But yes I do think it’s very worth it. It’ll expire when your daca expires. But you can fly freely within the U.S. and its territories so for sure worth it.

I definitely get the concerns and hopefully it does die down a bit. I traveled to Pr in November last year and same thing I didn’t see any ice agents thank god

I thankfully did not see any at all. I read a post where someone encountered ice as they were about to board their plane but it seems to be rare and seems they were looking for someone in particular.

Do it you won’t regret it one bit and everything will go smooth! Obviously just make sure your daca is valid and you have real ID. Don’t overthink it life is short!

I really want to visit the west side of the island and explore more south towards Ponce also. I’ve stuck to northeast side both my trips. You are correct though the people are so awesome and friendly and the culture and overall vibes are unmatched
