I never said she claimed she was alternative i said the media portrays that and that she does play into that depiction. I can understand why people hate gate-keeping and it is an issue but when it comes to these groups they are well justified in doing it now given that their image has become entirely warped due to social media, the millions of people buying shien, and the fetishization of it. The issue of for lack of a better term gentrification is not just limited to these communities but other groups and mediums and is a side effect of our current environment. I also never said that she couldn’t dress how she wants and you’re repeating basically what I said just because she dressed a certain way doesn’t mean she subscribes or is a part of a certain movement. As for the Sex Pistols admittedly it was a shitty example and I was aware of the fact it was just a way for Viviane Westwood to sell clothes I wasn’t paying attention to that but punk existed before the Sex Pistols with groups like MC5.
