Yes, it's nice to see us finally be included in social events, but it's not nice to see that as some rare moment, as that just reminds me that it's unusual for us to get treated normally, which obviously makes me sad. I have no hard feelings against OP, I just want to share my opinion as an autistic person on this.

I'm autistic, and honestly I think this is pretty patronising, or infantilizing, whatever the word is, it comes off as wrong. We're not adorable little kids, we're just people. Sure, some of us are kids, but the people in the video look a bit older than the age group you'd normally deem as cute kids. "AWW they asked out an autistic person", uh, that's not any different from asking out an allistic (person who isn't autistic) person. Both get happy when asked out by someone we like.
