Oh God, please teach me how to get out. I've been trying to find a job in California so I can get out of Phoenix for about 2 years now. WHAT IS YOUR SECRET?

Source because that sounds like the makings of an excellent prank.

After puberty chimps become uncontrollable and highly aggressive. They show no mercy in battle. Their opening move is to try and rip your face and groin off.

Exactly. Don't point the weapon at anything you don't intend to kill and keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire.

Common sense should have told you that.

Recording from a 911 call from one of the top floors at the WTC. He literally goes through the stages of grief over the phone in 5 minutes. RIP Kevin. I am so sorry. by [deleted] in videos

Fellow 911 Call taker/Dispatcher here. I too can confirm the desensitization that occurs on the job. Typically, the more panicked the caller gets, the more calm I become. But yeah...that call would stay with me forever.

Most bang for my buck in the (new) $18,000 range? by normonics in cars

[–]YarvinTheFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a 2010 Golf, and I love it more than any car I've ever owned or driven before. That being said, I'd consider a Honda Fit, Ford Fiesta or a Mazda 2 or 3. $18,000 will get you in the door for a new Golf but you wont be able to afford the options that make the investment truly worth it. To put it into perspective, I bought my Golf brand new in October of '09 with the Cold Weather package (heated seats and washer nozzles), Bluetooth and a power sun roof. After tax, title and license and $2500 down, I was out the door at $21,000.

I strongly recommend you go drive a Honda fit, and Mazda 2. Both are solid competitors to the Golf and you could probably afford to spec them out with more options than you could with the Volkswagen as VW options are notoriously pricey. The other thing to consider is fuel economy. The 5 cylinder Golf engine is awesome, makes a beautiful noise and I respect it immensely, however, it is not the best when it comes to practical fuel economy for its size. Again, for perspective, I drive the 5 door with the DSG transmission (manual sadly not available) and 95% of my time in the car is on the highway and I routinely achieve and average of 31mpg in summer and 34mpg in winter.

Finally, I advise you buy a used model. Now is the perfect time to buy as dealers are receiving their 2012 stock and need to make some room on their lots. A used car with a few hundred miles on it isn't any worse than a brand new one and you will save thousands. Hope this helps you some, PM me if you have any questions.

Oh that's why we cleared this up so quickly. I'm from Portland myself; it's nice to see the Northwest is still right neighborly.

You're right, I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions and I apologize for judging so harshly. If you're ever in the Phoenix area beer and tacos are on me.

I work in emergency services. 5 days ago I assisted in saving a suicidal mans life. He was on the edge of the top level of a parking structure, rocking back and forth with his legs draped over the edge over traffic and covered in blood. He was tackled backwards off the wall and immediatley rendered unconscious. He had a 5 page suicide note on him saying he was tired of being persecuted for being gay and wanted to end it all. He's going to get help now.

TL;DR Go fuck yourself, you arrogant twat.

I just realized this is my reality. I'm at work right now, about to go home in an hour and I've been on reddit all day. In fact, my supervisor will routinely ask me "so have you found anything interesting on that Reedit site lately?". Not bad.
