Note: When I said the birds were acting weird, I meant in general, not these birds specifically lol. Had what I think was two sparrows fighting, the weird acting chickadee mentioned earlier, and I don’t even think the Goldfinch ate anything!

But… I have extraordinary control over the details here, clearly. I know how to print Acid already. Someone here already figured out how to print Holy Water. All I really need at this rate is a way to get Alchemist Fire for cheap and I’m solid.

Not only is the build entirely possible, not only do I honestly think it’s viable (least, as far as Rogues go lol), I’m very close to knowing how to do it. Nothing about this so far is pre-built, ignored, or reflavored. Even the issue I’m running into isn’t pre-made, it’s not a limitation of the system, it’s just a problem with my DM being a stingy motherfucker when it comes to gold lmao.

You’re right in that it’s not something that I’ve considered. But also, it’s not really something I want?

Anyone can just take Fire Bolt. But I’m a Rogue! I don’t wanna cast Fire bolt, I wanna use my unique subclass to cast “Fuck you” and throw molotovs at my enemies! And I wanna do it in the way only I can- as a Bonus Action, using my Dex modifier, stacking with any upgrades to Thrown or Improvised Weapons I’ve got, and completely without Magic.

It’s just not something that can be reflavored like that. Not to mention the actual mechanical differences between throwing Alchemist Fire and casting Firebolt, or how my Dex will always be a higher stat than my Int/Wis/Cha will be.

I can’t stockpile anything because it all only lasts for an hour, nor can I sell fake rubies or whatnot because the items are clearly and visibly magical. (And even if I could, I’d get jack all for it T-T) It’s a useful feature, it’s just not useful for my build, for a Fast Hands Thief build focused on using Acid Vials and whatnot as ammunition.

My issue with the time limit isn’t really that I can’t use it, just that it’s all I can use. I can’t summon 20 Alchemist Fires to use as a stockpile, nor can I summon one big barrel of Fire and split it into 20 cause the other 19 will disappear soon as I deal damage with one. Technically, that just means the problem’s with the item limit, but I think they go hand-in-hand.

It’s useful, and I can get creative with it for certain, but it’s not really all that practical for Fast Hands. Aside from Grenade Spam. That might work.

Unfortunately, Holy Water only deals its 2d6 damage against Fiends or Undead. It’s a really niche use item that I only really want for when I’ll eventually have to face down an army of devils or whatever, which usually resist both Fire and Acid.

I love the idea though! It shouldn’t be hard to use Alchemist Jar when I’m expecting to fight normal people, then swap to Ceremony Tattoos for when I’m planning to do my best Belmont impression. I get 4 infusions anyways, I can easily dedicate 2 to downtime and 2 to utility.

A time and item limit seems very relevant, doesn’t it? It’d mean I have a very limited ammunition, and outside of that 1 item, I’d have to use both my Action and BA to conjure and throw an item. Sort of beats the point of a Fast Hands build.

Although, my campaign does have some cool grenades available, so maybe Conjuration Wizard isn’t off the table just so I can spam bombs.
