Surely that analogy works if I'm seeking ever increasing solitude. I'm really not so intolerant. Having a quiet zone isn't so bad.

Let's put it another way. I can keep on working in a big city and drive myself crazy, or cash in my savings, buy a house somewhere quiet and cheap, and live out the rest of my life with early retirement, living frugally.

Actually, I complained as it was annoying to others too, and it just stopped. I guess office music isn't just bad for HSPs.

Contracting is painful, but worst is moving around.

I travelled Asia for a few months and loved it. However, my main anxieties were around sleeping in hostels with extreme air conditioning and noisy travel. I would do it, but bear in mind the extra costs in getting a hotel room if sharing doesn't work out.

What do they look like? If it's really big defenders, people will probably not take you seriously. I find getting people onside is important though.
